I have multiple small, hairline and a few medium sized (~half inch max) cracks in my stucco foundation. I've caulked all the visible cracks with Sika ProSelect Construction adhesive caulk (was recommended by H. Depot) and it's had ample time to dry & cure. Do I need to prime the stucco and caulked area before I apply the Behr Elastomeric paint? If so, how many coats of primer is needed? The stucco does have a tint color to it (which I'm assuming, but don't know for sure, is just from the stucco application). Behind the stucco is concrete block wall.

This product did fill small cracks 1-2mm. We power washed the foundation, let it dry thoroughly and applied one heavy coat (the paint is very thick). It looked great after just the one coat, planning to apply a second coat next spring, if needed. We painted over both old paint and freshly repaired masonry and the product coverage was very uniform. We did not use any primer. I was very happy with this paint, well worth the price.

Can I use this paint on my interior basement walls which are cinder block? The previous owner painted with latex and there is some chipping & bleeding through of water on the walls. Any special prep I need to be aware of?

This paint was used to paint my cement foundation. Honestly, I am EXTREMELY pleased, it covered the foundation entirely, evenly, with a nice sheen, but not too much. Bottom line, I'm glad I made this purchase.

If you paint a piece of glass and when it dries hold it up to some light and look at all the little holes you will see that allows moisture to escape.

1 gal. #MS-39 Crystal White Elastomeric Masonry, Stucco and Brick Exterior Paint is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 341.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wrong ideas about this product I am a professional painter who has won 12 Angie's List Super Service Awards in Central Florida for "Exterior Painting" . My experience goes back to 1985, but established my own company here in Orlando in 1998. -There is a lot of talk about elastomeric paint and even pro painters are spreading rumors that are not true ! 1.) If you have a house made of block or stucco and you have crack/settling problems - this is the product to use. It will hide small cracks and because it stays flexible you will not get hair cracks again . 2.) The application is to be done by roller and you should use a tinted primer in preparation for using this product. 3.) You should hire a professional who has experience with this application . You can do it yourself- but chances you are doing wrong are high. 4.)You should not use thios product on siding or garage doors (metal or wood). Get regular Behr exterior paint for that purpose -or you might create another problem. 5.) It is NOT sealing in moisture in walls -it lets moisture out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get a professional sprayer. Read the directions. You will need a professional grade sprayer if using a sprayer. It is recommended to use a nap roller. If your stucco has texture, it may take several hours to complete one wall. The image shared shows the progress. It took a 4 hours to get a 15ftX10ft area painted. The quality is amazing. It looks great! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

About ten years ago, I used it on the old rough stucco (now 52 years old) on the brutally sunny south wall of my now 52 year old house. It still looks as good as it did ten years ago. Works great on vertical rough wood as well, easy to apply.

This paint was exactly what I was looking for to bridge and stabilize hairline cracks in foundation parging . One observation ,the paint covers a lot more on previously painted surfaces. I bought twice as much as I needed based on product info. It would be nice if my local store carried it. On line ordering was somewhat difficult as I didn't know which base to buy so I could have it color matched. Not much help from local store , but good help from customer service and Behr customer service. Easily 5 stars without the hassle. It should be carried at the store, they would sell more of it.

Very viscous, needed stirring to keep the pigment well dispersed. I did some mixing to get the consistency and sheen to my liking. To make a long story short, I finally settled on this mix: 2 parts (volume) of Behr Elastomeric Masonry paint, 2 parts Behr Satin Masonry paint, and 1 part Behr Flat Masonry paint. Not something the Behr rep will want to know, but it gives me exactly the finish I was looking for. I'll continue to use Behr paints for the long term - they are unsurpassed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from goes on good Porch steps needed paint. Few hairline cracks, larger cracks were filled with a silicone extreme flex caulk by DAP. Some imperfections of the stucco such as holes, dips, chunky. This paint is thick so it was less messy than indoor paint. If you have drips let it dry then peel off. Pictures are worth more than my words. Used 3/4” roller 1” would have been better for the imperfections but used an angled synthetic purdy brush to cut-in and dab. Will see how many years this will holdup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This saved me allot of money! Our house is 19 years old, 3/4 of it Stucco. Never had Stucco before, thought it was maintance free. Wrong! When people around us started selling their houses, the "professional inspectors" would say the stucco needed to be replaced for 100k. After lots of investigation, and engineering firm, these guys are nuts. My neighbor paid 8k to have Sherwin Williams vesion rolled into his house. Looks great. I sucked it up and bought the Grayco Sprayer, HP9 I think it is off the top of my head, so I could spray this on. My house is 4500 sq. Feet. Most people said the sprayer would not handle the elastomeric. It did, no problem. Talked to Grayco, they said I would probably go through more tips than ususal. 20 gallons later, tip is great. We tinted the paint to match the new color theme of the house. I can spray it on incredibly fast, use either or a brush or a roller to back roll or work it into the stucco. This stuff is much easier than I thought it would be to work with. Cost is great as it makes he you can get it on sale when they have Behr paint on sale. I did get the sprayer for a separate project, but I made sure that I could use it for this. This stuff works as good as it says, that doesnt happen to ofter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product did exactly what we wanted it to. ... This product did exactly what we wanted it to. It covered the exterior concrete foundation walls of our home. They had gotten marked and little chips over ten years. We had to special order this at Home Depot and when it arrived they were able to tint it to the color we needed - a real bonus.
