BEHR ULTRA Ceiling Flat
Non-reflective finish that hides minor surface imperfections
BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Stain-Blocking Paint and Primer* is an interior paint that's too tough to scuff and sets a new standard for flat paint durability. BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE features breakthrough innovation to deliver a rich flat finish that is truly durable enough for high-traffic areas. This low-reflective flat finish is easy to clean, touches up well and hides minor surface imperfections. Don't settle or compromise between the flat look you desire and higher level of durability you require. *A PRIMER COAT MAY BE NEEDED ON SOME SURFACES. SEE BACK LABEL FOR DETAILS.
Ideal for busy high traffic areas, family rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and ceilings
Available in an EXTRA DURABLE FLAT SHEEN which provides a beautiful non-reflective appearance along with excellent touch-ups
Excellent hide; 1 gallon covers up to 400 sq. ft. depending on application, color and surface porosity
For best application, use a high quality 3/8 in. - 1/2 in. nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or airless sprayer (0.015 in. - 0.019 in. spray tip, 60 mesh filter)
Use BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a primer for properly prepared uncoated or painted interior surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (2 primer coats required for redwood and cedar) and heavily stained areas
Lock in stains with BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a spot primer, for heavy stains, test for stain bleed-through by applying BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint to a small section, if stain bleeds through, spot prime another coat to the stained area and test again before top coating, if bleeding continues, a longer dry time is needed before top coating
Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50°F-90°F (10°C-32°C), darker colors may require additional dry time between coats, cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong drying time
The true benefit is a flat finish appearance with scuff resistance of a gloss, a combination not typical in traditional flat paints
Advanced scuff and mar resistance helps protect wall surfaces in busy households. Do not use on floors.
Polar Bear is a white with a slight yellow undertone. Depending on the light source or time of day, it may appear as a warm white on the walls.
Exceptional burnish resistance provides an easy-clean finish for long lasting beauty
Both my wife and I wanted our offices in a flat/matte style and whilst it took 2 coats and some touch-ups, it was worth it for the look at the end. Normally matte paint needs a lot of
fixes or scuffs easily, but if you get this scuff defense tin it'll negate a lot of that. It dries very quickly, so you can just get on with the second coat and not have to wait too long. Overall very happy with the product.

I bought this paint for my daughters room. We chose Polar Bear in the Dynasty and it certainly exceeded my expectations especially since we were painting the color Polar Bear over Tiffany Blue. This paint went on smoothly and covered well.

behr marquee color match chantily laced
Semi gloss color (bright white) one coat guarantee isnt true. You can clearly see the first and second coat difference in this paint. Highly disappointed. Never have i had an issue with any other marquee paint.

Hi Evan, thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear that you did not get good coverage. Our Marquee paint should cover in one coat when tinted to one of the one-coat colors and applied over a previously painted or primed surface. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Giovanna

Bought this paint around February 2019 for my Bathroom. Yesterday I noticed a YELLOW spot above
my shower. After determining it was YELLOW MOLD, I removed it per instructions from the web. I have painted my bathroom with different brands of paint over the 30+ years I have live here with none of them growing MOLD. Behr grows MOLD! So don't buy this paint for your bathroom. I have bought my LAST BEHR paint. My wife looked for our receipt from Home Depot with NO luck, or I would ask for my money back. Very DISSATISFIED!

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry to hear about the mold growth in your bathroom! Our Premium Plus Interior paint line is mold and mildew resistant, however, it will not prevent mold from growing completely, especially in high moisture areas. To remove any mold growth in the future, we recommend using a mold/mildew remover (available at your local Home Depot). If the remover discolors the surface, we recommend touching up with more paint for a uniform finish. For further assistance with your project, please feel free to reach out to us directly. We'd be happy to help - Sara

Do Not Buy! This pain peals away with the tape, and does not adhere to the walls. Even with a primer-coat (which the folks at Home Depot will tell you is unnecessary, because the paint has primer in it), the paint pulls off of the wall in large chunks. Especially bad for damp environments, where you don't want moisture getting below the paint and the paint bubbling up. The worst is that once the paint pulls away from the wall, it creates a uneven surface that is difficult to cover. Avoid Behr at all costs. There's a reason that Benjamin Moore is the specification grade paint of choice.

It's good but it's not great. Have been using it for years but honestly just don't feel like I'm getting the even opaque coverage that I'm paying for. After buying the first 25 gallons this year I finally stepped up and bought the marquis line. Worlds better but geez do you have to pay for it

Plastic covers (tops)
The use of these cheap, flimsy covers is terrible. Almost impossible to close top after use. A steel top you could apply force to. This cheap alternative you are using for your paint is making me look at other brands!

I have painted a lot over the years and have used Behr products before so didn’t think twice to use it to paint our commercial office. We used a light colour and unfortunately any brush work cutting in at the top would leave a distinctive line from the roller for the rest of the wall. Tried different brushes, thicker coats and even after four coats could not get rid of the brush strokes. The paint would also dry on the inner walls of the can so that when you stirred it you would get flakes of dry paint all over your roller. Spent a lot of time picking it off my walls. Very disappointed.
Response from Joanne, Behr Customer CareMay 16, 2022
Hi Lucy22, thank you for your review. I'm so sorry you could see the brush strokes on the cut in areas of your wall and that there were flakes of paint in the can. I recommend letting the paint dry for 72 hours, sanding smooth any texture from the brush strokes and any flakes that may be on the walls, wiping off the sanding dust, and recoating with paint where needed. While recoating, I recommend maintaining a wet edge and feathering the brushed areas by pulling it down in short strokes into the rolled areas to help blend the two together. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. I'll reach out to you directly to assist you with this further. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience with us, and I hope to hear from you soon! -Joni
