BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Stain-Blocking Paint and Primer* is an interior paint that's too tough to scuff and sets a new standard for paint durability. BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE features breakthrough innovation to deliver a rich finish that is truly durable enough for high-traffic areas. This radiant semi-gloss sheen will help you create a sleek, reflective look that brings maximum impact to trim, windows and doors as well as indoor furniture and cabinets. Don't settle or compromise between the look you desire and higher level of durability you require. *A PRIMER COAT MAY BE NEEDED ON SOME SURFACES. SEE BACK LABEL FOR DETAILS.
  • Ideal for busy high traffic areas, kids’ rooms, hallways, kitchens, bathrooms, doors, windows, trim, cabinets, shutters and interior furniture
  • Semi-Gloss sheen offers a radiant sleek appearance
  • Excellent hide; 1 gallon covers up to 400 sq. ft. depending on application, color and surface porosity
  • For best application, use a high quality 3/8 in. - 1/2 in. nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or airless sprayer (0.015 in. - 0.019 in. spray tip, 60 mesh filter)
  • Use BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a primer for properly prepared uncoated or painted interior surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (2 primer coats required for redwood and cedar) and heavily stained areas
  • Lock in stains with BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a spot primer, for heavy stains, test for stain bleed-through by applying BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint to a small section, if stain bleeds through, spot prime another coat to the stained area and test again before top coating, if bleeding continues, a longer dry time is needed before top coating
  • Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50°F-90°F (10°C-32°C), darker colors may require additional dry time between coats, cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong drying time

                Excellent choice for doors, trim and baseboards

                  My go to interior paint, every time.
                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I do not prefer the Marque one coat style of paint because it's too thick and fast drying for my liking, and the premium plus is thinner than I like, the ultra is absolutely perfect! I've been using Behr Ultra paint for 15 years and it has stayed my favorite paint throughout. Though I've used many other brands and variations there has not been a compreble paint in either performance or price. As the years have gone on I have become hesitant to use any other type of interior paint.

                    Factory finish in your shop/home.
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using Behr as a General Contractor and as a home owner. As a GC Behr is my choice, I only use a competitor if a client insists on it, (and usually their choice is because the photo they like from a magazine used the competitors, it is not because of research and years of using it). I find it easy to use, incredibly forgiving making it easy to use and that touch ups blend well. It bonds well to so many surfaces and other paints and lays out as if it's sprayed and looks great to the average eye. If prepped well, and applied well it can look and feel as good as a sprayed material and most clients will be incredibly pleased with it. I could chose to tent off a section of my shop or in a clients home or wait for a windless day, but I haven't seen a 'significant' difference in rolling/brushing this great product on to merit the cost and need and time/patience to warrant it. I plan on using this in mostly the off the shelf white and a few other colors on almost a dozen projects this year on our own home. I stand by Behr and will be doing more projects with more of their products. A great company and products.
