BEHR ULTRA Ceiling Flat

BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Stain-Blocking Paint and Primer* is an interior paint that's too tough to scuff and sets a new standard for flat paint durability. BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE features breakthrough innovation to deliver a rich flat finish that is truly durable enough for high-traffic areas. This low-reflective flat finish is easy to clean, touches up well and hides minor surface imperfections. Don't settle or compromise between the flat look you desire and higher level of durability you require. *A PRIMER COAT MAY BE NEEDED ON SOME SURFACES. SEE BACK LABEL FOR DETAILS.
Ideal for busy high traffic areas, family rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and ceilings
Available in an EXTRA DURABLE FLAT SHEEN which provides a beautiful non-reflective appearance along with excellent touch-ups
Excellent hide; 5 gallons cover up to 2000 sq. ft. depending on application, color and surface porosity
For best application, use a high quality 3/8 in. - 1/2 in. nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or airless sprayer (0.015 in. - 0.019 in. spray tip, 60 mesh filter)
Use BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a primer for properly prepared uncoated or painted interior surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (2 primer coats required for redwood and cedar) and heavily stained areas
Lock in stains with BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a spot primer, for heavy stains, test for stain bleed-through by applying BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint to a small section, if stain bleeds through, spot prime another coat to the stained area and test again before top coating, if bleeding continues, a longer dry time is needed before top coating
Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50°F-90°F (10°C-32°C), darker colors may require additional dry time between coats, cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong drying time
The true benefit is a flat finish appearance with scuff resistance of a gloss, a combination not typical in traditional flat paints
Advanced scuff and mar resistance helps protect wall surfaces in busy households. Do not use on floors.
Frost is a cool white with a slight blue undertone. Depending on the light source or time of day, it may appear as a light icy white on the walls.
Exceptional burnish resistance provides an easy-clean finish for long lasting beauty

Behr ultra scuff defense # 57 paint
I have been painting for 30 years and have never had so much trouble with a paint. I am painting a ceiling with the Behr ultra scuff defense paint in frost # 57 flat white. The paint leaves roller marks everywhere and you can’t touch up or it shows. I have used 3 gallons and still can’t get roller marks not to show. Very disappointed in this paint. I have used the regular Behr ultra paint before with good results. But not this ultra scuff defense paint, it’s to hard to work with.

Thank you for reviewing Behr ULTRA Interior Scuff Defense Paint. I'm very sorry to hear about the roller mark issue experienced, as it certainly isn't typical or what we want our customers to go through. Applying an additional coat perpendicular to the last should help improve the appearance. Customer satisfaction is very important to us, and I encourage you to contact Behr directly for further assistance.

Purchased two gallons for fear this would not be able to cover the purple and pepto pink I inherited from a previous owner in one coat. Much to my surprise it covered nicely, leaving me a gallon to tackle other projects. I had never heard of an “eggshell” finish but figured I’d give it a try. I won’t be purchasing paint from anywhere else. I would recommend highly.

Frost is blue
I wish they would organize their colors by tones. Put the warmer tones on one side and then cool tones on the other. I bought Frost thinking it was a neutral, but crisp white (that’s what it looked like in store) only to use it on the walls and it’s literally blue. It should be called Arctic Frost. Melting icicles looks way better. I REALLY HATE THIS COLOR.

Hi Bambi, thank you for your review. I’m sorry to hear that the color did not turn out as expected. Typically, the lighting and surroundings in the room influence the way the color will turn out. Frost 57 is considered a cool white, but should not look completely blue. Customer satisfaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback. Please reach out to us directly if you need further assistance; our customer care team is happy to help you! -Giovanna

Not going to lie, we are smokers. So my walls are a light yellow after cleaning. One coat of this hides the yellow while not allowing any bleed through. Was very impressed, and if allowed to cure for at least thirty days this paint takes a good scrubbing without washing off.
