Q:Right hinge bracket on toilet seat itself broke after a couple of years of light usage -- previous seat had lasted at least 25 years.
Happy to replace the hinge myselfbut seems like a total waste to have to buy a new toilet seat every couple of years.

Broke After 7 Months
The slow close function randomly stopped working and now the left latch continually leaks a black oil-like substance.

Do Not Buy!!
Don't buy this product. I bought 3 and in less than 1 year, the plastic hinges had broken on 2 of the 3 simply by allowing the toilet seat to soft close (see attached picture). They simply are not durable.

Hinge broke!
After 7 months of light use, the hinge suddenly broke. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the other one in a second bathroom is still okay lol. Now wondering when that will break. I have been careful to wipe the hinges dry after cleaning.

hinge broke after 2 months
Unfortunately the toilet seat hinge broke after only 2 months of use and is irreparable. Not heartbroken as the seat was not very comfortable.

Installed the seat Monday afternoon. Thursday morning it broke. That's less than 4 full days of use.
Also, I don't know what kind of an "enamel" coating they put over the wood, but the last photo shows what happened when my wife cleaned the seat (if you can see it in the glare). The cleaner left permanent damage in the finish.
Looks like I'll get to test out Home Depot's return policy.

Product Shows Wear
Can't get this seat clean and it is getting worse. Ironically, I bought this to replace the seat on a new toilet at installation because reviews of the toilet were excellent, but only so-so of seat for it. With young kids using it among others, I thought I was saving myself time. Boy, was I wrong! Having to replace after less than 6 months. I've never had this problem before with any other toilet seat

Screws pulled out of the lid. Will get a warranty replacement. Hopefully the new one will last longer than a week.

Cheap hinges
My previous purchase of this model toilet seat, the hinge broke less than 6 months old. I couldn't find the receipt for exchange so I bought another for the parts. I could not locate hinge parts for that model on line.
