Q:Our toilet is a very old American Standard blue/grey We don't expect to find a perfect match But hope for something close. If we order and the colour does not suit is there any problem with returning.

I purchased 4 of the BEMIS
Slow Close Round Closed Front Plastic Toilet Seat in Country Grey about 2yrs ago. Since then, I’ve had to replace 2 of them because they are broken. The toilet seats look very nice and work well, but only for a short period of time. Went back to order the same color that I previously ordered in Country Grey, however that color is now double the price that we originally paid. All other colors are almost half the cost of the Country Grey. See photos below.

Sigh. The hinge broke after only 2.5 years.
So if you don't mind paying $25+ a year for a toilet seat, this is the perfect product. I bought this Bemis replacement toilet seat in September of 2019 for our guest bathroom. It was easy to install, perfectly matched the color of our original toilet and the slow-lid worked great, but the hinge snapped after less than 2.5 years. (See photo) I spoke with Bemis customer service at 888 722-6488 and they are unable to offer repair or replacement parts and the only option was to buy a new one.
