Product Overview

Introduced in 1936, the original BESSEY malleable cast iron bar clamp was the world's first bar clamp. Clamp with traditional wood handles are still available and quite popular however, many models are now also available with composite plastic handles as well as with tommy bar (sliding pin) handles. Many of these Clamps have also been fitted with replaceable pressure pads that are easily replaced, and allow for replacement of damaged spindles.
  • Integrated anti-slip system with a hardened set screw molded into the sliding arm which interlocks with the serrated rail
  • Malleable cast iron fixed jaw and sliding arm allow powerful rigid clamping
  • High-quality profiled steel rail
  • Hardened, smooth-running spindle with Acme thread
  • Ergonomic composite or wood grip handles
  • The fixed jaw is press fit to the rail with no mechanical fasteners to loosen
  • The original BESSEY malleable cast bar clamps are available in 60 different combinations of capacity, throat depth and style of handle

Nice clamps
Great, heavy duty clamp. Unfortunately for me, I bought the clamp to hold up an undermount sink to the granite countertop while the silicone cured. I got it home, and removed the packaging and realized that the sliding side of the clamp does not come off of the end of the bar as some others do. This could be advantageous for some, but for me it was a deal breaker. Just something to note.

Superior Bar Clamp
This is an excellent, professional, strong clamp. I like the composite handle because it provides a better grip than the smooth wood handles on their other clamps. However, I would like the handle to be about one inch longer for an even better grip.

Just what I needed
I need to fix a cabinet door that had split. I removed the door and reglued the frame where it cracked and placed the clamp on the door and it worked pefectly to put the seem together. The cabinet looks like new and the clamp make easy work out of this repair.

Excellent F-clamp
This clamp is a good combination of size and strength. The high-grip plastic handle really lets you crank down on your project and force pieces into alignment.

Best F clamp on the market
I am a big fan of Bessey parallel clamps so I thought I would look into their F style bar clamps as well. I use a lot of bar clamps and am really glad I got these. They did take some getting used to at first. There is no lock on the clamp head. It slides freely when you tilt it on the bar. The first couple times I used these I didn't like it. However once I adjusted my process in how I align the clamps, I prefer this configuration. It makes things really easy to do with one hand The composite handles are the same as the k body clamps I like and the 2 1/2" throat depth is generous for clamps in this price range. The bar is fairly heavy duty. Not quite as strong as my jorgensen HD's, however will provide ample clamping pressure before deflecting. My only complaint it the face pads tend to fall off when pulling them out of my clamp rack, I put a little dab of hot glue under it so if I do need to replace them, I can get them off easily. These are great clamps and I wouldn't want to be without them.

Well Worth It!1
This clamp is exceptionally well built. It has a full 36 inch jaw opening which you need for cabinets and furniture work. The metal is heavy and does not bend when pressure is used on the clamping. I have owned this manufacturers clamps before and have found them to be a good product!!.

Nice quality and good clamping force
These clamps don't bend as much as some other lesser quality ones I got from a low cost tool supplier. The paint and the plating on the parts don't leave marks on item being clamps. They have plenty of clamping force too. the jaw pads fall off a little to easily, i have be careful not to loose them.
