Q:I now have 3 40V Batts, all dead. What is the expected life expectancy on the batteries? Appears to be 1 year. I Would expect to get more than about 2 uses a month of mowing season (6 months) use in a 12 month period.

A: Press the state of charge indicator button on the battery. The three LEDs will illuminate indicating the percent of charge in the battery. See chart in figure A. on the manual for details. Examples are No lights <18% One light on 18% - 45% 2 lights on 45% - 72% Three lights on 72% - 100%

Battery dead after one year

My battery was used maybe 5 times and now will not charge. It is for my trimmer. Replacing is very expensive. Is there a warranty? I have several B&D tools and their batteries hold up very well.

Batteries are trash

B&D’s electric mower is fantastic, yet they batteries they provide are absolute trash. Take FOREVER to charge and only last maybe 30 minutes at full. Really regret this purchase.

Do not last. waste of money, will not charge

I have a lot of B & D outdoor power tools. These 40v batteries are a nightmare. They do not fully charge up and I have 2 new batteries that I just opened up that will not charge at all. I get the dreaded red blinking light. Worst of all B and D does NOT stand behind these batteries. I have 3 new batteries never opened that do not charge up. I was told because the 3yr date had expired, too bad. You are out of luck. nothing we can do. sorry.

Terrible battery performance

I bought this as a weed wacker/leaf blower combination. Worked great initially, not the battery won't last more than 5 mins. A new battery cost almost as much as the original eed wacker/leaf blower combination. Terrible!

Two out of the thee batteries died after one year

Bought three, my yard no more than a dozen times. Stored them in a garage from November until April. Two of the batteries would keep blinking red after a few seconds of connecting the charger, and will not charge.

BATTERY 40V 1.5AH

Disappointed with only a maximum use of only 3-4 Hours before the BATTERY will no longer take a charge. I have purchased many BLACK&DECKER products during my lifetime. I will not recommend or purchase any of your products in the future unless you follow through with a positive result (NEW BATTERY 40V 1.5AH)

My Black&Decker weed eater works great and the battery also, but the last battery I bought would not take a charge but I turned it back in and got my money back. I want another battery but I am afraid it want charge either.I do like my weed eater.

Poor Overall

I should have listened to the bad reviews this battery got. However we have a B&D weed eater that we really like. This battery didn’t last 20 minutes from a full charge. The old batteries lasted at least 40 minutes. Really disappointed in this Black & Decker product. We’re seniors so spending money just Willy Nilly doesn’t work for us.
