Single Hole Single-Handle Bathroom Faucet With Deck Plate in Polished Chrome

I initially tried installing the faucet, but immediately removed it since it had problems - thus the 1 star review. The faucet itself looks and feels like solid quality and appeared to be cast brass, with the only magnetic steel being the screw post. Though, time would tell how long the cartridge inside would last and how the water flow and aerator worked. The install instructions it comes with are worthless since they cover multiple styles of faucets, and neither option matched this faucet. The instructions are mostly pictures, which is fine, but most of the shown measurements are in milimeters which isn't as helpful for those of us used to inches. There is a Type1 and Type2 faucet install option, and while Type1 is closest, it doesn't match the install requirement for this faucet. The faucet has very few parts required for install, and I often find simple is better. This also makes for a more intuitive install and for those who have installed faucets before, the instructions may not be needed. I liked that the attached flexible supply lines are encased in woven stainless steel, and stripped with the corresponding hot/cold color. Each water supply hose has a stainless steel mesh filter inside with what appears to be a replaceable rubber washer. The supply lines screw into the bottom of the faucet body, so I made sure to confirm they were fully secured before installing the faucet. The screw post for securing the faucet to the sink or countertop has a phillips indent to help install it, though it was easy to install it into the faucet body by hand. The open space at the bottom of the faucet is deeper and the post can be screwed in until only about 1/2" is showing out the bottom of the faucet. I would have preferred the post to bottom out and be tight so it wouldn't continue to spin while tightening the nut under the faucet during install. And, having a longer than necessary post would not have gotten in the way during install. I like that the aerator has indents for easy wrench removal without causing damage to the finish, and the optional deck plate has a full foam insert underneath to add strength and to seal out water. The foam continues about 1-2mm past the deck plate so it will actually compress and seal againt the bottom surface. My concerns with the deck plate are that the finish scratches easily and it doesn't have an indent or design that would keep the deck plate and faucet locked together after install. This allows the faucet to easily move on the deck plate and it wasn't hard to shift and rotate the faucet exposing a gap between the faucet and plate. The faucet came with a large o-ring that I expected would install at the bottom of the faucet to create a waterproof seal during install, but it was smaller than the indent on the faucet base so didn't stay in place. This meant I had to try and keep it from slipping or falling out during install. I tried using it between the faucet and deck plate, and also as a single hole faucet install without the deck plate, but neither worked. While it may have helped seal out water, there was still a gap between the faucet and deckplate that didn't look good. Installing it as a single hole faucet didn't really work either, and there wasn't enough friction to stop the faucet from easily spinning during use. I tightened the screw under the sink as much as I felt comfortable without cracking the sink, but the faucet was still too loose. And lastly, the faucet came with a hole on the back to install a drain pop-up rod to lift and lower the pop-up, but the arm wasn't included. So either I had to find a rod that might match this faucet design, or replace the sink drain to one with a spring loaded push style pop-up. In the end, after a lot of frustration and wasted time for a faucet that looked good and should have been simple to install, I removed it and went with a faucet that both looked good and was designed better.

The BWE Single Hole Single-Handle bathroom faucet was a breeze to install. A novice installer should be able to successfully complete an installation in 30 minutes or less. This is a replacement faucet so it utilizes the existing drain stopper and lift rod assembly. If the replacement faucet is a different color than the existing one then a new drain stopper and lift rod would need to be purchased separately. Aesthetically the design is modern and the height as well as forward tilt angle allows adequate room for hand washing. The smooth surface makes cleaning easy and the single handle operation is smooth and nearly effortless. PRO’s: mentioned above. CONS: (depending on scenario) doesn’t include drain stopper, lift rod.

I replaced an old faucet with this one and it looks much better, plus the water pressure is better for some reason than my old faucet. There is no drain handle so make sure you have some other kind of drain plan. The one thing I don’t like is the feel of the handle. It curves down on the sides and feels strange in my hand. I might get used to it or I might look for another option.

We got this single handle chrome bathroom faucet from BWE in anticipation of remodeling a small bathroom. When we got the new vanity top, we realized it had three holes so we changed our plan and didn’t install this faucet. It’s made for a single hole vanity top whose diameter is generally 1 1/2 inches. The faucet itself has a very nice finish and it is heavy to handle which seems to me it’s probably well-made. Installation instructions are pretty straightforward to the point that there are really no instructions in the box. Just a small diagram. The hot and cold supply lines are already attached to the faucet, but I did notice there was no tail pipe or drain mechanism supplied, so you’ll have to purchase that separately. The operation of the handle is smooth and I’m looking forward to installing it on my next project.

Most important you must first secure the water by shutting off the valves under the sink and drain the existing faucet by opening the handles. Place a bath towel under the existing sink faucet to catch any water after you remove the old sink faucet. You will need an adjustable wrench, flashlight, putty knife, and cleaner for the top of the sink for after you remove the old sink faucet. Remove the 3/8" nuts from the hot and cold water valves to the water lines to the old faucet. Unsecure the plastic retaining nuts on both hot and cold sides underneath the sink. Use the flash light to aid in removing these plastic retaining nuts. Remove the old faucet after the retaining nuts are off. Place the old faucet aside. Clean the sink surface with HDX sink cleaner with a soft towel. Use the putty knife to get any sealant off the sink surface. Install the new sink faucet ensuring that the faucet base plate cover is over the existing hole and secure the retaining bracket and metal screw using the black tool with the BWE kit. Connect the water lines to the 3/8 nuts with the adjustable wrench. Turn on the hot and cold water valves. Check for leaks. Slowly, open the faucet handle to release pressure on the water lines to allow water to flow slowly thru the new BWE faucet.

This is another very high quality product from BWE. This is a single hole single-handle bathroom facet. You will have look check the bathroom sink carefully to make sure that it is a single-hole system. A lot of bathroom facets, especially old ones are two-hole systems. Getting back to the quality part, the facet itself is made from high quality metal and the chrome just looks very beautiful. The pipes have metal clothing too. I think this is definitely something that will last for many years.
