Product Overview

Bees need you, Native Bees are the most prolific pollinators on the planet but because of habitat loss, their population is declining. A solitary native bee can pollinate several thousand blooms per day, regardless of chilly or cloudy weather and because their focus is pollination, they do not produce honey or beeswax and make friendly, non-aggressive garden partners. Hand-crafted from FSC certified pine and bamboo, this bee house is sealed with a non-toxic water base finish. Its Bamboo tubes are designed to mimic the holes found in the wild. Once a female bee establishes her home, she will lay her eggs, fill the tubes with pollen and seal off the entrance with mud so her young can grow safely until next spring.
  • 12 in. tower with 90 plus tubes for bees to lay their young
  • Attract safe and super productive pollinating bees
  • Hand-crafted with FSC certified pine and bamboo
  • 8 mm bamboo tubes to shelter next spring young
  • Easy to install with a single nail or screw using built in key hole on solid back panel
  • Bee kind to your garden and help the bees

A lot of people are saying males will only be laid at 5.5 inches, which is not true. Females are laid in the back and then males, anywhere between 4-6 inches. Obviously the longer the tube, the more females you will get. The shortest the tube should ever be is 4 inches in order to ensure both male and female bees.

Do bees just naturally come to the house? If not, how doI get bees to start with?

I haven't tried yet. Once they hatch next spring, I'll use pipe cleaners to clean them.

This little Bee House was easy for me to put up on the outside of my detached garage below the soffit and it looks great with my wind chimes, bird feeders and bird houses in the area. I just got it so the bees haven't found it yet, but with all the mass of purple coneflowers I have directly under it and in the courtyard, I expect they'll find it when they're ready for it. They're very busy bees right now...

Waste of Money
At least is was for me. Paper wasps took over. Also read another review on here that they're really only meant as a one time use item. Disappointed because I really wanted to help the bees, just not the bad ones.

Good Price. Other stores sold them for over $30. We have had this up for 4 days. The mason bees have made their home in our walls of our house. They get in through the cracks in the siding. We are hoping they will decide to move into their new home we bought.

It looks good and seems relatively sturdy, but it hasn't been exposed to the weather yet. Will see how it holds up to next spring.

The product looks beautiful on the side of the house. I am excited to see the bees discover their new condo and to, in a small way, participate in bringing pollinators to our yard. I would get another one, for sure.
