1/2 in. x 0.8 ft. Brass Offset Bath Supplies in Oil Rubbed Bronze

Although the product I ended up with is the chrome version, and the item itself is pleasing to the eye and appears to be constructed with quality materials, I am very disappointed in some Barclay design details. The outside diameter of the supply pipes is slightly larger than 3/8", and the typical connecting pipes are 1/2" diameter. The product includes a 5/8" female nut attachment for a brass compression fitting that is for a 1/2" connecting pipe, and they supply a rubber washer to place around the pipe and inside the compression ferrule to make up the difference between the inside of the typical 1/2" ferrule and the smaller supply pipe. This is a design that is destined to fail as it is nearly impossible to assure a tight connection and allows for the possibility of the connection to have a blow out due to constant pressurization of the water supply lines. In addition, the company doesn't provide instructions as to how to make this connection. I only got a verification after calling the company multiple times to get clarifications. It would be much smarter and easier for customers if they simply sized the supply lines so that a 1/2" compression fitting could be used on both sides without the rubber washer. I have been doing plumbing for many years and have experience with a wide variety of installations and products, and again, this is a choice that Barclay has made that makes it more difficult for the consumer and creates an additional cost as a plumber will typically be called rather than doing a home installation. Frankly this is disappointing. Left image is the female 5/8" diameter fitting and rubber washer provided by the company. Middle image is the typical compression fitting with a female 5/8" thread diameter, center hole for 1/2" pipe, half inch ferrule and off the shelf compression fitting for standard connection. Right image is the standard compression fitting with standard half inch inside diameter ferrule and rubber washer installed in ferrule that this installation requires. Note that the 5/8" female nut then rubber washer, then ferrule needs to be installed on the product pipe prior to attachment to the compression fitting.

If you have a footed bath tub with Elizabethan style fixtures then these were much cheaper than going to sign of the crab website or vintage tub. Fit perfectly.
