Asked by tootsie January 29, 2019these brackets come with self tapping screws but they are not great screws. I would predrill each hole for metal mounting but not if it's going into wood, but the screws aren't very long so I would get longer screws for wood anyway. The other option is to go ahead and just buy some high quality self tapping screws that better suit what ever your application is. Keep in mind that these brackets are pretty light duty. if you tweak them much they snap. If you're careful and get them installed well without breaking them I think they will last a long time and the powder coat finish looks great but they are really not very tough.
