A: Greetings, unfortunately I've been using an aluminum pot for more than a year and I don't remember the exact measurements
A: Can’t measure it anymore because it’s installed, however the Veranda vinyl posts fit over it perfectly
A: These are used on any post you need to reinforce. I have a snow load on the fence because my fence is down the hill from driveway. So I used these on every post. I had a straight run of fence so no corner post for me.
A: I would not use them for retaining walls. They ae not strong enough. There are light weight aluminum I beams to reinforce vinyl fence posts. They work perfectly for that.
A: They could be used for a retaining wall as vertical support but only for limited circumstances. Spacing of the posts and height of actual retained material would be very important. They are relatively light gauge aluminum and would have to be used within their strength limitations.
A: No, this post is used inside a vinyl post so that self-tapping hardware can have something solid to screw into. It should extend the full length of the vinyl post which should be secured deeply into the ground giving it all the support it should need. A decorative vinyl cap ( many styles w/so lights) available.
A: No it does not have a bottom or top plate. I have used them to fix posts and gate posts for extra support.
