I just installed my Beam up BU 800. . It was not to hard, To install in my garage with all my tools already in their. 1st read all the instructions then looked at their YouTube video and got to work. It took me a little over two hours to install it. But the end results is priceless. I should have done this a long time ago. There's everything you need in the Box to set up your garage door opener. The instructions are very easy to understand. And one of the main things that I like about this garage door opener is, I can use my smartphone to open and close the garage door. No more garage door opener left in my car overnight. I just don't want anybody to break in my car and able to get in my house. I never mind a junkie garage I'm a mechanic. This garage doors opening close with a belt not a chain so it's pretty quiet opening and closing. And i almost forgot to mention all the Bells and whistles that this garage door opener has. It has its basic door sensors it comes with two 3 button remotes it's got lED light bulb, ,a smartphone controller ,a keyless entry pad, they thought of everything..

It's kind of weird to be excited about a garage door opener but I really was excited to open and install this. First, every thing is well packaged and all the parts are laid out well. The instructions are well written and the install was easy and intuitive. Pictographs and written instructions made the install that much easier and this was done in approximately 1 hour. I had difficulties with the app but contacted customer service and they were able to resolve it. The door opens, consistently, smoothly whether with the app, the key pad, button or opener. The app is free and there is no service to purchase. Once you have it- you have it. This is a chain drive which are notorious for being much louder than belt drives but this was not the case, particularly. Between the well written and illustrated instructions, the engineering, the app set up and operation, this is a great garage door opener for less than some are charging for the ability to use an app as an add-on to an existing system. Am I happy? You betcha!

This is a tough review to write. The garage door opener itself is very nice. Using the support from our old opener, which was becoming non-responsive, we were able to install it very quickly. We put the new brackets on the door and above the door, and installed the electric eye safety system. It was very easy to adjust the up and down limits (see the controls for how well marked they are, and how easy to read), and then to pair the provided wireless keypad and two remotes. It is nice and quiet, being a belt drive, and it slows down as it reaches the end of travel, up or down, so it's a nice easy stop. After 20+ tries, I have still not been able to connect the Smart Controller. This is something I was looking forward to, so I could close or open the door from my phone, as well as being able to tell if the door is open or closed remotely. I sent a message on their website, and got an automated email asking for a little more information: phone system (Android), where purchased, etc. I then also called the support number, and got a call back later that day. That gentleman, while courteous, was unable to help, and in almost a week, I've heard nothing else. For this reason, I'm giving it one star. If you don't need the Smart Controller, this is a good opener, but when that is something you were specifically looking for, it's unacceptable to have it not connect, and get NO support.

I've been holding off on the wifi garage door opener too long. It was time to find one and replace an older, failing unit. I have two doors but wanted to try the Beamup Sentry BU400 before I purchased two. I don't use Alexa, we are an apple homekit home so waiting for that integration but I can still operate the opener from the app on my smartphone. Anyways, installation was fairly easy (being my first time) and running the wires was simple due to an open attic space above. Pros: First, I like the door opener. It's powerful, quiet and aesthetically pleasing with the led lights and such. It fit in my existing setup and no modifications were needed. Cons: The rail setup is a bit weak. It's not like my old one, a solid piece of steel. I wish they would have allowed for the option to use the old rail system. This one snaps together and does not allow for fastening each piece together to prevent them from shaking loose. I may add self-tapping screws later. Another con I would consider is the bulky wifi controller. It lives outside of the housing which is strange, considering it's a wifi garage door. Then, paired with the opener you need 2 outlets above your door for it to operate. Then the amount of wires required is a bit much. You can see in my pictures I wire-tied them together as I am a big cable management person. Finally, I had some issues during setup connecting it to my car (tesla model 3 that has homelink) and my Liftmaster keypad. I still can not get my keypad to work, the car finally connected. Getting the wifi transmitter to connect to the phone app/my account also took 20 or so tries before it worked. In all I recommend the door opener after getting through my issues. It's quiet, powerful and more current to the technology, I just wish the wifi was built into the unit, the amount of wires was less AND the rail system was a bit stronger. We will see how it holds up.

This is a very quiet garage door opener, while it is chain driven it is quieter than most chain drives. I like the bright light and the timer that keeps the light on while you get into the house. The instruction are pretty clear....the linking to HomeLink and the vehicles was not as easy as I hoped but it does work. The issues may be more vehicle related than the opener..I just don't know. The opener works as advertised and the physical installation was relatively easy. I wish the unit came with the remote keypad, that is something we use a lot. Overall, I recommend that opener.

The BeamUp BU400 is a 1/2 Horsepower Door Opener. All the parts for a complete installation are included. The door opener is easy to assemble and make ready for installation. The directions are clear and concise. Pay attention to the details for an easy install. Allow about 4 hours in an empty garage to complete this task. The door operation is quiet and smooth. The integral LED lights are bright enough to light the entire garage. The motion sensing light is an added plus to this unit. The finish is smooth and clean. The added WiFi interface is a must have. This allows you to see the door status at all times from your smartphone. With the proper tools and ladders, the installation is easy. I preferred to install all the wiring, door eyes and buttons ahead of time and then installed the opener. There are times when an extra set of hands, makes this installation easier. The programming of this unit is easy and quick. Simply follow the instructions to set the door travel limits with a few button pushes. The door force is also easy to set up with an automatic feature that determines the required force. The door controller is a smart controller with a “Learn Button” for the remotes and vehicles. Follow your “Home Link” instructions for your vehicle to set this up. The electric safety eyes have indicator lights for assisting in alignment. The door button has an optional light only button and a vacation lock to set when you are away. Set up the Smart Door Controller, before installation for an easier set up. The Alexa integration works well and is a convenient feature. Nice product, nice finish, quiet and smooth operation.

Installation was a snap, because I had a pro do it. Took him two hours and we had to replace the ceiling brackets. But it’s 10 times quieter than the old one it doesn’t buckle and it’s very very smooth. It works with Alexa and all the remotes programmed super easy because I had my son do it. The home link in the cars everything works great. The step-by-step instructions the pro said we’re very easy he’s put up many before and the only thing he couldn’t do was program the Wi-Fi or anything like that. But that’s what my son did.Like I said it’s very quiet, so quiet that I can’t even hear when my wife gets home. Alexa tells me.

Installation was no different than any other belt driven brand, if you know what you are doing. I bought a 8ft extension kit for my 8 ft door. The design of the body and packing looks great, I said wow when I got the box. LED light is slightly brighter than previous opener but not as bright as it could be with so many lights on it, compared to again competitors' LED versions. Motion sensor works well, as soon as I step in the garage, it turns on the lights. The slider moving back and forth which door is hung is plastic, not metal; hoping that it will not crack under load. The product is technologically not well designed. They did not build a Wifi in it, and send you another Wifi Controller module (not compatible with 5Ghz) and garage door tilt sensor. Most Wifi garage door openers have internal controllers hence know whether the door is open or not, this one doesn't. Also the wall control module has a special connector so you cannot use your existing wiring inside the wall and need to lay the cable again (For that reason, I did not install it, and connected my simple button). Existing safety sensors did not work with this one (which usually works with others), so I had to lay all that cable again and install their sensors. You can attach sensors to concrete floor or to dry wall. Existing common brand remotes and keypad also did not work. So you need to use their remote and keypad from the box, that was also strange. I called support, left voicemail and got a call back from them in an hour (good), however the guy worked for their manufacturer because he was referring to other brand on the phone. You cannot set up a notification in the app which notifies that you forgot the door open at a defined time (i.e. 9 PM), which is an important lack of feature. I am expecting a call back on that from support. I did not test or will use Alexa.

Awesome Smart Garage - Had Me at Subscription Free
Our home has a ton of smart features from smart outlets to Alexa to Ring. Needing a new garage door, I decided to upgrade to something I could open with using my phone. I looked through the different brands and ultimately decided on the Centurion. It looked like it would do the trick and something that I could install DIY. The instructions couple with the Youtube video were extremely helpful in getting it installed. The LED light built-in the unit provides a ton of light for what was once a very dark garage. Smart Garage Features The app is very intuitive and simple to use. I’m able to open it from anywhere and see who’s opened the garage if I turn that setting on. I can also set rules for auto closing or see which “kid” left the garage door open... Connection to WiFi and Alexa was also straightforward. I just ask Alexa to open the garage as I’m heading out, or better yet, let the kids do it. Also part of this was the fact that there were no subscription fees was also a deciding factor for me for everything adds up.

BeamUP…. Smart Garage Door Opener BU400 Sentry arrived in perfect condition and was very well packaged. This garage door opener comes equipped with a ¾ HP Heavy Duty DC motor with chain drive. I have to say I was skeptical about a chain drive as I have had a belt drive for many years simply because they have always been quieter than chain drive openers. Not this one. This is the quietest chain drive I have ever had even quieter than my old belt drive I am very happy about the lack of noise. Installation instructions were easy to follow and the Installation was simple and easy except for the controller unfortunately after 3 days of trying with our network provider to connect our WiFi to the controller (unsuccessfully) we gave up. This opener has lots of features like an integrated motion activated 3000 lumens (200 watt) LED lighting system, a smart garage door Controller (that I cannot connect to) a 3 button Remote, and a multi-function wall button. This garage door opener opens and closes my garage door with ease and I believe I will get many years of use out of it.

The unit has a mixture of nice and poor features. Positive items: 1. The LED lights (came with the unit) are nice; brighter than my old unit 2. The Wi-Fi process went pretty smoothly. 3. Being able to easily control the upper and lower limits is a very nice feature. 4. The installation of the photo eye tuned out nice, but took a lot of work. The bracket they supply requires you to drill holes in concrete. I’m sure most people don’t want to do that. They show a possible track mounting, but the bracket is bulky, and most tracks will not have two holes close together for mounting this. One bolt would allow it to tilt if bumped. I trimmed both ends of the bracket off, (softened the edges with the belt sander), and drilled additional holes in the track to mount it. It would have been much nicer if they made the bracket to adapt easier to the track with one bolt, and supply bolts with low profile heads. 5. I was able to program the opener control in my 2017 Ford Edge very easy, and the same for the remotes and key pad that came with the opener. 6. Packaging is the best I’ve seen for anything. Negative issues: 1. The “Safety Reversal System” wouldn’t work. The instruction manual just says go back and repeat the installation process. I did this five times, same result. I get the flashing “OK” light, but I could not hear a beep (which was also supposed to happen). I even tried one with the “lower control” set just shy of the floor, but it didn’t help. I guess I can use it without the safety feature. 2. The light switch on the door control is kind of odd. The light comes on automatically with motion. The light switch only allows you to turn the light off. After you leave the room for awhile, and come back in, the light will again come on with motion, without any change in the switch setting. 3. The Wi-Fi is a nice feature, but it appears it was an after thought with this unit. As it is, you are to “stick” the module somewhere close to the opener, and then have a bunch of wires/cables hanging all over it. Out of the box, the opener is a very attractive unit. However, all these wires and cables hanging all over it make the assembly look very sloppy. Why wasn’t the Wi-Fi set up with Bluetooth, so it could be placed elsewhere in the garage? Another option would have had a recess in the housing to hold the module with an electrical receptacle in the cavity to hold all the wiring connections. 4. The master chain link was very difficult to snap into place. I sure I must have attached a couple hundred master links in my life, and nothing was a tough as this one. 5. I would have really preferred screwed on wire connection instead of the Push tab with screwdriver, and insert wire. These wires are stranded wires, and very thin. It was a lot of fooling around, and the wires kept bending over. I see the wires for the Wi-Fi were tinned, and I probably should have done the others. 6. Not always consistent with the terminology. There is a plug-in connector on the back of the unit for the “wall unit”. I thought it must be for the “Door Control”, but spent a lot of time searching, before deciding these two must be the same. 7. For some reason, the opener control for my 2007 Silverado would not accept this signal, even though the previous Chamberlain had no issues with either of my vehicles. Misc. Comments 1. My initial thoughts were that I wished this would have been a chain drive instead of a belt drive. The belt looks marginal in size (about 3/8” x 0.90”). However, what is funny is that my old opener (Chamberlain) had exactly the same belt. Its belt ran several years without issue. It also had the same design rail system. 2. Interesting that although the unit is made in China, the hardware is “inch”. 3. My son-in-law said with their opener, it would mal-function with LED lights. This unit has no issues with LEDs.

Having purchased different openers in the past this is by far the best. It is notably smaller and sleeker then competitors. In addition, the smart features and integration with Alexa cannot be beat. Very pleased with this purchase and would buy again if needed.
