I'm not exactly recommending this cord (because I haven't used it yet) but the other guy must have picked up the wrong cord at the store. He must have picked up a similar 16g extension cord. I DID "zoom in" on the packaging and it says 15A, as it should for a 14g extension cord in a 25' length. If his cord is rated for 13A either it is a lot longer than 25' or it is a smaller gauge wire such as 16g.
This is properly rated for 15A tools and appliances over a 25' run of cord. That other review is just flat out wrong.
I am buying one of these today for an air conditioner that had to be placed in a window where there is no outlet. Today, outlets in halls are common and in fact required by code, but they weren't in 1958, when this house was built, LOL! It's a 13A AC unit. Personally, especially for "not recommended" applications like this (running an AC unit on an extension cord: NOT RECOMMENDED, for good reasons) I always go for overkill. The shorter you can manage to keep your extension cord, the better. Creates less heat, less voltage drop across the wire. A larger gauge of wire is safer. Especially for things with motors - there is always a power spike when the motor kicks on that will exceed the normal operating parameters.
If I HAVE to plug something into an extension cord I try to go one step up from what is minimally required. Lamps, I don't worry about especially since I only use LED and CFL bulbs. But anything else - go one step above the minimum requirements, at least one step. Use connection protectors (to keep the plug from coming partly unplugged from the extension cord), use the shortest length possible, and go one step up in wire size. And get an electrician in as soon as you can to remedy the situation so you don't HAVE to run something like an AC unit across an extension cord.
Your 15A tool or appliance will be fine with this properly rated 14/3 25' long 15A extension cord.

If you need a more than a 13 Amp cord, DO NOT ORDER this one. The product description says it's a 15 Amp cord, but when you get it, the "packaging" reads 13 Amps. I'm sure the cord is fine if you need it for less than 13 Amps. View the cord with the packaging on it and zoom in to the fine print...its rated at 13 Amps. If I used my 15 amp snow blower with this cord, some kind of property may have been damaged. If the Home Depot changes the description to 13 Amps instead of 15 Amps, I would retract my rating and review.
