I purchased a new kit but received a torch that had clearly been significantly used complete with scratches, green copper, and a darkened tip. Bad on Home Depot for not checking, will update review if customer service is able to help.

Broke after 60 days
I bought this as a replacement for my 1st series Bernzomatic torch which I had for nearly 12 years. This one lasted 60 days. Not kidding, 60 days with MINIMAL use and the igniter is dead.
That should tell you all you need to know about the quality of this device.

Great for Brazing Aluminum
I did research in brazing Aluminum in this is recommended. Braze a 14 gauge Aluminum checkered plate to make a box and divider in my tool box (used blue demon triple play Aluminum brazing rod) and turn pretty darn good.

I chose this torch kit due to the variable control...
I chose this torch kit due to the variable control knob and auto light function, also has a lock to keep flame alive without keeping the button pressed. My intent was to use this and Alumiweld to install some bungs onto an aluminum pipe. Worked flawlessly, always had it consistent flame, I would definitely recommend this product
