Perfect for my use-See pic
I needed something affordable for my parents grave site. The 4x4s are 8 feet long so was perfect for each side. I needed it to match the black headstone. I used one on each side and placed black pavers at the foot so I didn't have to purchase another set of two. I am very pleased. I attached a picture.

I liked the idea of using these as a border and burying three sides leaving one surface exposed because they'll never rot or have to be replaced. The problem is these expand and grow in direct sun, the surface exposed to the sun distorts terribly. To counter this I cut reliefs (saw blade width) in the three sides not exposed, and then some straight cuts on the face exposed. This took care of most of the movement when the sun is on them. I also made 24" long pins with welded washer heads on them to drive them down. I installed 15 of these plastic 4" x 4" X 8's and aligned them end to end. Drilled 5 holes per 4X4 and 75 pins to complete. Got it done and it looks good with the decorative rock. If I was just starting over I'd avoid these recycled plastic 4 x4's they's just not worth the effort it takes to make them look nice and stay put where you pinned them down. I took it as a challenge and the result is satisfying, but never again.

Ordered 7 boxes to make landscape planter boxes and every board was very warped. Thought using plastic over wood would avoid that issue!!

Nowhere near as square and smooth as photo shows.
We had a couple of issues with this product.
1. The pieces we received were very rough and uneven with only small portions looking solid, smooth and square like in the picture.
2. The description states to use common wood working tools to cut. I definitely recommend against that. It will work but the heat caused by the friction makes it sticky grabbing the blade and you can tell the saw is struggling somewhat. I was using top of the line saws and Freud Diablo blades.

The wood came warped out of the box and thus...
The wood came warped out of the box and thus my project was hit square. I was unable to confirm the posts into the square I needed. Made my final version of my project look rather lackluster. Disappointed in the outcome for sure.

Great product for the right application
Using to replace railroad ties made out of pt landscape ties. Works super well in application and looks to last 50 vs 8 years in challenging environment. Highly recommended for the right task.
