About This Product
The BigTop Multi-Flue Chimney Cover by HY-C Company is a smart, attractive choice for multi-flue chimneys. The black galvanized steel BigTop features a 24-Gauge removable galvanized steel hood with scalloped corners and roll-formed edges for extra strength and easy cleaning. The attractive black powder coat finish helps it to stand up to the elements. The 18-gauge 3/4 in. galvanized steel expanded mesh is available in 8 in., 10 in. and 14 in. heights. The 24-Gauge galvanized steel base flanges are designed to mount on a flat chimney top and measure about 1-1/4 in. on each side. The top-mount design attaches easily and securely with included tapmark masonry screws and tube of all-weather construction adhesive. Backed by HY-C's 7-Year Limited Warranty.

how small will the 26 x 14 ? will it fit a 25 x 12 ?
this is a fixed cap. it needs to clear the flues, and stil fit on the crown of the chimney. It will attach to the top of the chimney via a 1-1/4" flange running the perimeter of the chimney cap

why cant you use this with a wood burning fireplace? I don't understand. Metal is metal? Will the black coating burn off? If its purely a cosmetic warning then I am still interested.
We don't recommend the black galvanized caps if wood, oil or coal is your primary source of heat. The by product of the burning can lead to deterioration of the cap. If you just use your fireplace casually, the black galvanized cap will work great.
how is it held down on the chimney
It comes with four masonry screws and some silicone adhesive.
