I would say "yes". I would recommend using a small clamp to secure the mesh after covering the sump pump outlet pipe.

Can this be used to block voles and gophers from eating plant roots and bulbs?

They could likely chew through this one. I use a heavier metal 1/4 galvanized wire mesh under the raised beds . I also use cheap metal office trash cans for some individual plants set below surface a few inches and plant inside so main roots wont get chewed but small roots can grow through. Gophers and voles will go above ground for dinner when they are hungry though so nothing is 100%.

Would this mesh work for moss control on my compsoition roof?

Ah, what you are talking about are Nickel Strips. Place these strips in a row atop your roof, and the ions given off will inhibit the growth of moss, algaes, etc.

Can it be used to cover a fence?

Asked by MA September 28, 2020

Answer

Yes, you can easily use zip ties to wrap it around a fence. Think of it as copper mesh fabric in terms of flexibility.

Birds have eaten giant holes in my retractable awnings while retracted in early spring. Would wrapping with this mesh prevent this?

Asked by Janet May 25, 2016
1
Answer

Dear Janet, Copper mesh is meant to be stuffed into small nooks and crannies to prevent birds and small animals access. Essentially it acts as a filler. The most effective solution would be to exclude the birds' access by netting off the eaves with heavy duty bird netting. We would be happy to refer a Bird B Gone Authorized Installer near you. How do I installed this to keep birds out of my two story house

Asked by LN March 1, 2016

Answer

Bird B Gone Copper Mesh is used to fill in crevices where smaller birds and rodents are able to access. This eliminates nesting and access point for pest animals and pest birds. You will need to tightly stuff the crevices with the copper mesh. If you have any questions, please contact us at 1-800-392-6915 for assistance.

Best to use in small areas around exterior of house where birds, bats, rodents or insects can enter. The copper mesh wont trust and stain exterior. Great way to restrict entry to facade areas by pests without closing completely allowing for ventilation

Effective Mouse Deterrent
Customer review from homedepot.ca logo
Seems to be effective for plugging possible mice entrance cracks/holes in cottage foundation but needs to be glued in so they can’t pull it out. They’re smarter than us humans! So far so good, been 3 weeks & it’s Fall!
