We still had geese on the lawn. They were not afraid of them.

This has to be one of the funniest and coolest items I’ve seen at Home Depot! Anyone who sees it comments on it. It is fairly well done. It’s probably a 3.5 star product, but it gets a 4 for overall for being super cool.

The tail, which is attached to the back end of the coyote, is made of a fur like material. While this coyote looks really scary, it is more likely to scare another animal or kid. I've had numerous geese hanging out with the coyote since installing it in my back yard, hence the rating.

This Bird-X Wind Movement 3-D Coyote Replica has proven to be more of a joke than of any use to us. It is described primarily as an effective way to scare off Canada Geese plus Cats, Ducks, Foxes Coyotes, Rabbits, Raccoons, Squirrels, and perhaps some other critters. I ordered it, hoping it might humanely (and legally) keep the feral cats and rock squirrels away. Upon arrival, my bride and I laughed as soon as we looked at it. I left it in the sun for a couple of days to soften it enough to work with. Then I placed it in a common travel route of the feral cats when they’re heading for the bird seed area (where they like to catch and eat the doves and finches). It’s also in good view of the squirrel travel areas. Having lived and spent much time in the desert and hills, and having coyotes living, running, and dining, in our neighborhood, we and the cat and squirrels have seen many REAL coyotes. This thing looks anything but real. Our first response was that any cats would laugh out loud upon seeing it, and then “mark” it. The grandkids got a great laugh out of it too, after they said, “That’s a coyote?!” As good as most animals, especially birds see, I can’t imagine them being afraid of it, and that has certainly proven to be the case. Breezes do move it around a bit, but the prevailing wind pretty much leaves it in one direction. After less than 36 hours, something had ripped the tail plumb off. I found it in a messy old pile of old scrap wood I’d been saving for tinder for the fire pit. I glued the tail back onto its mounting block and reinstalled it. Since then, the security cameras have recoded several cats several times, as well as a raccoon that walked within a few feet of it. One night, I yelled at a cat as it ran within a few feet of this “scary” coyote. The squirrels act like its invisible. The birds don’t care a bit that it is about 40 feet from their seed area. Something went awry with the communications and while we’ve now had it for 11 months, we just received notice that it had been shipped. It dried up and cracked in the desert sun, so we just threw it away a few weeks ago. So much for this “coyote”.

This works great for discouraging unwanted wildlife that carry diseases or destroy your livestock crops/plants. Keep away birds, turkeys, squirrels, raccoons, fox, birds, woodchucks, neighbor’s cat? Etc. Very life like and moves with the breeze the 3 d effect Works. Nice life like size at 16’’ h 37’’ w x 8’’d plus it moves when there is a breeze. Make sure you move it around to different locations and read the hints included. The coyote body may take some time to fill out just place it direct sun light as per the instructions. I have two so i can change them and make it look more of a deterrent at times

Had some hopes that this would deter the geese coming up on my bank by my pond. It looks realistic and looks cool to see. Its 3-dimensional design provides 360-degree coverage that is visible from any angle. And me forgetting it was by the pond after a couple of months went walking towards it and my heart actually jumped a little LOL. But quickly realized it was Bird-X. Because we do have coyotes in our area. It did have a furry tail but since I put it down the pond it's missing ): It does take some hot sun and time to get the folds out of it, and I stuffed it with some cardboard originally and that helped. Eventually it did form it's shape. I even had it up by my house before placing it by the pond and a bear walked by it once. Who knows maybe it does scare something besides me!?!
