About This Product

Help your flowers and plants rise to the occasion. Ups-A-Daisy plant elevation platforms are specially designed to help reduce the amount of potting soil required to fill large, tapered pots. Ups-A-Daisy sets inside your planter approximately 1/2 to 2/3 of the way down into your container. Measure inside width of planter half to 2/3 of the way down to determine Ups-A-Daisy size needed. Inserts include drainage holes to help protect against overwatering. The insert elevates your flowers and plants out of potential excess water that gathers at the base of planters. This is a great solution for preventing root rot and mold issues. Ups-A-Daisy allows for essential oxygen to access plant roots. Ups-A-Daisy inserts are reusable and extremely strong. With an Ups-A-Daisy insert your potted plants & flowers are guaranteed to have healthier roots, produce bigger & more brilliant blooms, and grow faster than ever before! Most annual plants have a short root base requiring only 6"-8" of soil to thrive. If you give the roots too much room to roam, your plants may get long & leggy. But with less soil, the roots will be confined forcing nutrients back into your plants where they belong, producing healthier plants with bigger blooms while saving you time & money in the process!

Q:Which BLOEM (2) Planters goes with each size (2) Ups-A-Daisy? I want to buy several BLOEM planters and compatible Ups-A-Daisies. Surely this question can be answered by BLOEM, the manufacturer of both products.

A:  Thanks for asking, Mark. The 10" Ups-A-Daisy fits our 12" Terra Planter, the 11" fits our 14" Terra Planter, the 12" and 13" fits our 16" Terra Planter, the 14" fits our 20" Terra Planter, and 18" fits our 24" Terra Planter. We make a variety of sizes to fit more than just Bloem pots, too, which is why our size offering is vast!

Q:Do I still need to make a drainage holes in the bottom of the pots?

A:  Hi! 2/11/22 The answer is YES to still having drainage hole(s) in the bottom of the pot when using UPS A DAISY discs (no matter what size UPS A DAISY disc/flower pot that is being used). The BLOEM UPS A DAISY discs are excellent on cutting down on the amount of potting soil that is placed in each flower pot/containers!!! I have MANY of these (the round discs) in all of the different sizes!!! You can never have too many UPS A DAISY discs!!!!! I LOVE flowers and have many, many containers/pots/large hanging baskets!! Found out about UPS A DAISY disc two years ago, what a great idea/product !!! Wish I would have thought of this product.....Oh well, hope this helps!!

A:  Thank you for asking. If your planter is located in a area that is exposed to heavy or frequent rains then I would recommend adding a few drainage holes to your planter.

A:  That answer depends on what you are using the insert for. I modify this size insert to make wicking containers for tomato and pepper plants. Using them strictly as designed, to create a shallower soil bed in a larger pot, the bottom of the container should have a bottom drain hole of some sort. Stagnated water left in the bottom of a non-draining container could create problems long term.

A:  Yes! Unless you want a heavy and eventually misshapen planter! The holes in the planter lifter allow water to drain into the planter, but unless you have a self-watering planter, and even then you will need to be careful not to over-water, you should allow the water to drain.

Q:How far down does the insert go in the pot. I want to use it with a 16" Self Watering Bloem pot and need to know what depth the soil will be for planting bulbs.

A:  Depending on the size you buy for your pot how far down the Ups -A- Daisy will go

            by|Jun 11, 2022

A:  The insert is approximately 1 to 2" in height from the base of planter in the Ariana 16" and 20" series. The space between insert and the base of planter is less as you go into smaller planter sizes. Good luck and happy planting!

I had to return it because it was too big for my planter. It was an excellent product. I purchased a smaller one.

I received two ups a daisy sizes 16 inch and 17 inch. They both were damaged. Very poor packaging. I did not want to waste any more time so I kept one and return the other.
