Product Details

Easy to grow and delightfully fragrant, Peonies are the classics all gardeners desire. Thriving in full sun to light shade, Bowl of Beauty's very large single flower-heads have bright rose-pink outer petals that surround frilly creamy white centers. Dark green foliage remains attractive throughout the summer and into fall. Use in borders or along fences, sidewalks, driveways and walls; these charmers will bring compliments galore and attract butterflies, too.
  • Medium green foliage remains after flowering ceases and provides a backdrop for the next set of varieties to bloom
  • Excellent as cut flowers, peonies add a delightfully sweet, clean fragrance to any room
  • Before placing in vases, remove foliage below the water line
  • Hardy and easy to grow
  • Deer and rabbit resistant
  • Prefer full sun to light shade
  • Grows 36 in. to 48 in. tall
  • Plant 24 in. to 36 in. apart
  • Perennial in zones 3-8, dig roots and store indoors in colder areas
  • Growing instructions: select an area in the garden that receives full sun where the soil drains well, loosen the soil to a depth of 12 in. to 18 in. and amend with compost if necessary, place the fleshy roots into the soil so that the "eyes" or growing points are no more than 1 in. to 2 in. below the soil level, plants should be spaced 24 in. to 36 in. apart, tamp down the soil and water well, as the plant begins to grow, place a hoop-type stake into the ground to support the plant and its heavy blooms, water deeply during periods of drought

    A:  Hi Boy. I am so sorry to hear that your flowers did not last for you. Peonies are easy to grow and delightfully fragrant and are the classics all gardeners desire, they will thriving in full sun to light shade. The dark green foliage remains attractive throughout the summer and into fall. Sometimes the wrong area is selected for this plant, which will cause it not to perform well. This may be the case in your particular situation. This plant will do well in our Southern California planting zones of 8, 9 & 10. It is important that these plants be placed in well-drained soil that receives full sun. The soil should be amended and loosen the soil to a depth of 12 in. to 18 in. if necessary. The fleshy roots should be placed into the soil so that the “eyes” or growing points are no more than 1 in. to 2 in. below the soil level. The plants should be spaced 24 in. to 36 in. apart, tamp down into the soil and watered well. As the plant begins to grow, place a hoop-type stake into the ground to support the plants and their heavy blooms, water deeply during periods of drought. Since Southern California is nothing more than reclaimed desert, regular watering will be important. One day of hot SanTana winds could dry this poor plant out!     I planted right after I received. they never sprout even if I carefully looked after them every day. I have to dig them out and return if nothing comes out after one more week. This supplier only gives me disappointment.

    4 Tiny Roots Only
    I received only 4 tiny roots with some long, white sprouts today (October 21, 2022). It should have eyes as opposed to long sprouts. They are all planted in the same hole of ground now. I am not sure if anyone of them will grow next spring. By the way, I am in Zone 6b. It certainly does not meet my expectations

      Great price for this 5pk.
      This 5pk bowl of beauty was a great deal. Their roots were big with at least 3-5 eyes. I also purchase sarah bernhardt and karl rosenfeld but they must've been from another location because their roots weren't as nice or big with only 2-3 eyes. Otherwise, All roots were nicely packed, healthy, and starting to grow.
