Hello Meows, Below please find our recommendations to clean your floor: · Vacuum, sweep or dust mop the floor to remove loose dirt and debris. · Grab your Bona Cleaner, mop and blue microfiber cleaning pad. · Start with the Microfiber Cleaning Pad slightly damp. · Turn the spray nozzle to mist or stream setting and spray cleaner directly on floor. · Wipe up the cleaner with mop and Microfiber Cleaning Pad. · If you are cleaning a larger area or several small rooms, you will want to take the cleaning pad off of the mop and rinse it out in your sink with warm water to release the captured dirt. Wring it out so it is only slightly damp and attach it back on the mop and continue mopping. Bona PowerPlus Deep Cleaner on your is safe for your floors, as long as they are sealed or finished, and unwaxed or unoiled. Best regards, Bona Customer Care Center

Can this product be used on hardwood floors that have sat awhile after carpet has been torn up , it's black old glue

Asked by Kellie June 8, 2017

Answers

Probably not. If the glue has penetrated down into the wood the wood will have to be removed and refinished. If the glue is only on the surface it might be possible to remove it with this product. It is worth a try.

"Use With Caution And Beware, It Works Too Well!"
With all due fairness to the manufacturers product claims, it's very powerful and does exactly what they say. It loosens and removes heavy dirt build-up. What the consumer should be aware and keep in mind is that if your floors have dirty layers of wax, finishers, and old coats of polish as mine does The Deep Cleaner will remove them. I couldn't get my hardwood floors totally clean and streak free because I'd been putting floor polish on top of deep rooted dirt. Needless to say when this was "exfoliated" I had flakes all over, but underneath there was the clean, smooth original surface. I now have one small patch of clean floor and a huge DIY project ahead of me to continue and complete the process. I take total responsibility for my lack of knowledge and experience in caring for my floors and Ive learned a valuable lesson. Industrial strength cleansers should be used on otherwise cleaner floors. I would advise fellow customers who've had negative experiences and results with this product to give it another chance and to perhaps consult a professional cleaner. Good Luck!

A great product with a proven track record.
My wife is the expert on this type of product and she swears by it. I got this 32-ounce container of Bona PowerPlus Deep Clean Hardwood Floor Cleaner thinking I was trying something new. She quickly informed me that she had been using Bona products ever since we redone the upstairs. Which was about 8 years ago when we floored the entire second floor with ¾ inch Natural Ash. Ash is a very light colored wood that shows dirt and stains easily. With so much floor to take care of she had made extensive inquiries into how difficult it was to maintain. She determined from many different sources that Bona cleaner and polish was the way to go. She also told me that had she not been conversed that Bona could handle it, she would have insisted on a hardwood less difficult to maintain. I included a couple of pictures showing small sections of heavy traffic areas to shoe how it looks after 8 years of heavy use. You can judge for yourself why my wife feels so strongly about the merits of this product. I cannot emphases enough how emphatic she is about how it removes stains. She describes in painful detail how it removed coffee stains that I had left for weeks unattended and numerous other similar events. But the most important point she wanted me to emphasize is how Bona’s deep cleaning capability provides critical maintenance. Dirt tends to collect in the joints between boards similar to the way dirt collects in the gout on tile floors. It can become a very serious problem on end joints because dirt can get into the grain and create a permanent stain. Bona PowerPlus’s deep cleaner easily takes care of that problem by just using as directed on the container.

Bona, good as always!
I have used multiple Bona product over the years like Hardwood Cleaner and Free and Simple. This is just to say that they are my goto cleaners when it comes to hardwood. Now I can add Bona PowerPlus cleaner to the list. I liked the fact that it has surfactants which break dirt and grime and make it easy for you to mop and clean. I used it around couple 3 spots where I had food stains and it made mopping/cleaning really easy. The fact that it's greenguard certified is a big plus as I want to minimize use of chemicals around house. The product does say it's kid and pet safe. I would recommend it.

Really works on neglected, dirty hardwood
DISCLOSURE: We received the “Bona 32 oz. PowerPlus Deep Clean Hardwood Floor Cleaner” free from Home Depot’s “Seeds” program. Home Depot only asked that I provide an honest review. I was not compensated in any way. We tested this along with Bona’s PowerPlus Microfiber Deep Clean Pad. We’ve used Bona’s products with success for several years on hardwood, tile, and linoleum. The cleaner is in a 32oz spray bottle (vs the “cartridges” that attach to the spray mop). The spray bottle was much easier to use in tight areas or to focus on a particularly dirty spot. It’s also great for spot cleaning the hardwood without bothering to remove the “stone and tile” cartridge that happens to be in the mop. However for cleaning the entire floor, the cartridges are easier to use. We tried it on the neglected oak hardwood that had suffered built up dirt and water stains from house plants that dripped. It did a great job! (refer to the “before” and “after” pictures). It even cleaned the ground-in dirt where a chair had scuffed an area of the floor over time. We tried it side by side with the regular Bona hardwood cleaner, on a section that needed cleaning, but had generally been cleaned regularly - hard to tell the difference. WHAT’S GOOD: Great at cleaning neglected, dirty hardwood We really like that Bona’s products are safer to use, with low/no odor Spray bottle works really well in tight areas WHAT’S NOT: Really minor but it’s more expensive ($11) than the regular cleaners SUMMARY: Well worth the money for addressing problem areas. Use the regular Bona cleaner most of the time and reserve the PowerPlus cleaner for the problem areas, and the slightly higher cost won’t make much difference as it should last a long time Pair it with Bona’s “PowerPlus” pad for even better results.

Very disappointed!!
I can't rate it a zero, but that's how I feel about Bona. I've used Bona before, and have always loved the shine left behind. Unfortunately, I will never use any of their products again. Before, I had a great sheen on my beautiful wood floors. I washed half of my kitchen, and noticed a spot and a cloudy haze. I wiped with a wet paper towel, and it was filthy! Like I had not even washed my floor. I don't plan on ruining the part I didn't wash. I hope this film comes off!!

Worked great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was provided a sample of this product for free so that I could test and review it. I was also provided one Bona Microfiber Deep Cleaning Pad. When used together these products deliver an outstanding result. Grime is removed in one or two swipes that would take a fair around of scrubbing with my prior system of either steam or a vinegar/ water/ tea tree oil solution. My one issue with this product is that it isn't safe to injest. For those with pets that like to "clean up" the floor or small children, this may be of a greater concern. My plan to hopefully mitigate this is to spot clean the dirtier areas with this cleanser first and then go over the whole floor with either steam or my vinegar mixture. This step would be unnecessary unless you are concerned that someone will lick the the floor as these products together deliver a beautiful, clean surface. I have added photos to show a before and after. The before 2 pictures are trying to show the lick marks on the floor that are made by my dogs when their puzzle feeder rolls off the rug and onto the hardwood floors. These are more obvious in person and pretty hard to get up with the steamer or my vinegar cleaning mix. The third photo is after two passes with the Bona cleanser and pad. The marks are completely removed and the floor looks beautiful.

Powerful Cleaner for Everyday Usage
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received both Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner and a Bona PowerPlus Microfiber Deep Clean Pad from Bona in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. I have hard wood floors in my entry and hallways and hard wood steps going up to my attic. My entryway and hallway flooring have yet to be deep cleaned since I had them installed a little over a year ago so I couldn't wait to try these products. The Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner is very easy to use. I initially vacuumed my flooring to ensure I removed anything except the deep down dirt and grime that has built up over time. Next, I sprayed the Bona PowerPlus Hardwood Floor Deep Cleaner evenly over my flooring in the form of a fine mist and used the Bona PowerPlus Microfiber Deep Clean Pad to lift and remove the dirt build-up. Between the oxygenated formula in the Floor Cleaner and the PowerLoop technology on the Cleaning Pad, my floors quickly began to shine and look almost brand new again. Occasionally I rinsed my Bona Deep Clean Pad, as per instructions, to prevent streaking on my floors as I moved the mop head back and forth over my floor area. The pad removes the dirt build up that accrued over time very quickly and easily. I was very impressed with how well both cleaned my floors and steps and left a nice shine as if it was newly installed.
