Q:What is the pump replacement part number? Does the pump plug inside or is it hard wired? What is life expectancy of fan? Is the plastic unit Subject to cracking when stored outside in Colorado winters?

    Answer This Question

A:  SPS20006070 - 2800 Window Unit Pump Durango, it's hardwired. The fan should last the lifetime of the cooler as long as it is maintained. The plastic will be fine in cold environments.

Q:The specifications show a minimum window opening height of 10.9 inches but the Q&A and owners manual indicate the throat is 15 high. Is 15 the height of interior trim? Could that be removed for installation to get through a 12 inch high opening?
      by|Aug 21, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  The actual duct is 50CM wide by 28 CM high so the height would be just over 11 inches tall. The interior trim would be closer to 15 inches.

          Assembly Required
As the title implies, if you buy this unit you may have to get on their assembly and finish the job. The float valve and pump were not installed. For $400 one would expect the unit to be ready to be installed out of the box. I looked to see if I wanted to spend the 30-60 minutes of finishing the factory’s job. Nope. I noticed the pump to be so small it looks like it’s also sold in pet stores for a goldfish bowl. Returning this bad dog to the HD pound.

Were sorry you were expecting it to be complete. You need to install the float valve in the hole under the pads (left or right side, based on where your faucet is for water supply) because everyone's installation is different.

The water pump that came with the unit didn't pump enough water. I had to splice the wire to a better pump.

Cooler works great with "ASPEN Pads" double up, 2 layers in each panel. The pump puts out plenty of water. The 2 in. thick Rigid Media was worthless! With the fan on low the air was 10 degrees hotter with the Rigid pad compared to the aspen pad. With the fan on high it started to dry out the Rigid pad. Highly recommend this cooler with the aspen pads!!

The only question is being all plastic how well it will hold up. But for the price I can live with that. The oscillating blower was a real bonus. Thumbs up.

Good option for my 5th Wheel
This is the second summer I’ve used this in my large 5th wheel in the desert. Even when 100° plus I can keep the inside quite comfortable. Plastic so no rust issues, time will tell how the plastic hold up. I was worried the pump would not be strong enough after seeing other reviews but mine seems to cover the pads well. Took only minutes to set up. Runs almost 24/7 when I hear and have had no problems. Just bought a second one for my daughters tiny home.

Extremely undersized water pump does not pump enough water to the paper pads resulting in the pads being more dry than wet. Therefore, the blower fan just blows hot outside air into the room intended to get cooled by the “non-evaporative” cooler.Normal coolers that work correctly cool by drawing in outside air through wet cooler pads and the outside air gets cooled by the wet pads and the process of evaporation but if the pads are not wet wet or insufficiently wet - no evaporation-no cool air just hot air blown into the house. I will have to install a larger volume water pump to correct this.
