Growing in grass-like clumps of hollow, tube-shaped leaves, Onion Chives should be part of every herb garden. Plants are frost-tolerant, easy to grow, do nicely in containers, and can be used for landscape borders. Use to flavor soups, salads, egg dishes, baked potatoes, and virtually any other dish in need of a hint of onion. The pretty light purple blooms appear in springtime and have a delightfully peppery flavor.

Awesome Flavor
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am very happy with the quality of this plant. It arrived very safely packed and in perfect condition. I was able to easily remove the plant from the packaging by rolling it around in my hands. The plant transferred beautifully and is doing wonderful. It is absolutely thriving. I am very pleased with the onion flavor that comes from this plant. It makes a very flavorful addition to lots of meals. It is easy to prune and easy to chop. I would highly recommend this plant.

Yum!

They were a bit immature foe the season and type, but I haven’t had them overly long, so with some care and good water and light, I’m sure they’ll come along just fine. They’re very crisp and tangy and do wonderfully on fish and mild dishes. I’m very happy with this purchase.

New addition to garden

To the is Rosemary, that I just cut back as these Bonnie plants are growing huge . I look forward to adding the chives in future home meals.

Smells great!

Not great
I received my plants within the stated timeframe. I had purchased the 4 chive plants last year and was very excited to get 4 additional chive plants. I planned to re-pot and gift several to friends and add one to mine. The chive plants I received were very scrawny. Last year the chives I received were full and strong. I am very disappointed in the plants I have received. I followed the directions for the plants care. They are slowly beginning to grow that I may be able re-plant and gift some to friends.

Get Chiving
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is so easy to grow in an aboveground garden. I would recommend this to anyone that is looking for some great herbs. Plant, water, and use in the kitchen for some great cooking. This will take over a small area quickly so trim it back.
