having a problem with the blade gunking up and melting behind where it's cutting I'm going slow what am I doing wrong?

It gunks up when the blade gets too hot. If you are cutting thinner plexiglass go faster. If it is gunking up try going a short distance and backing off. I cut 3/8" thick and had to do that while blowing on the blade to keep it cool.

Would this be a good blade to cut the rails on a vinyl fence?

I'm not sure. If you only had a few to cut it would probably work. It might not cut thru to the other side of the rail. The fence installers use a circular saw with a plywood or fine tooth blade.

This was my 1st attempt at cutting plexiglass and I support these positive reviews. The blase worked flawlessly, did not gunk up, did not melt the plexiglass, and left an amazingly clean edge that did not need to be sanded. Great price and worth every penny.

These blades made exceptional cuts in the mirrored plexi glass I was cutting for the frozen river for my train lay out. The "regular" blades I had on hand were splitting and cracking the plexi. Outstanding product.

I made a windbreak for my wife's Miata from a 1/4" thick sheet of Lexan. This was my first time cutting sheet plastic and had planned to put a trim on the edges to hide expected rough, imperfect cuts. However, when completed, I was impressed by the exceptionally fine finish of the edges and found it unnecessary to sand or hide them. I used only one blade to cut straight lines, quarter radiuses and diminishing curves -- the latter two cuts were free-hand! The Bosch blade gave me good cutting control: I used the jigsaw's high speed setting without causing the Lexan to melt. My first-timer's confidence soared. An automotive hardware specialist saw the finished edges and said he thought the windbreak was made from glass - until he touched it. These blades are precision tools and can only imagine what they do in more capable hands.

The only blade to use on plexiglass. Smooth cut required little sanding to make the plexiglass edge perfect. It cuts straight cuts best, but it will scroll cut a little, just not to tight curve.

Thin Plexiglass will Crack
Bought this to cut a piece of thin plexiglass. Was not able to figure out which speed would cut the plexiglass without splitting and cracking.
