Q:Do I need to purchase any hoses or attachments in addition to the unit?
by|Feb 15, 2024

Answer This Question

A:  Dawn, We do not know your current water connections, so we can't be specific with regards to measurements. However, most people will purchase Braided Polymer Faucet Supply Lines to make the connections from the unit to the existing lines / fixtures. These Braided Polymer Faucet Supply Lines are available on this site and are available with different connection sizes and lengths. Additionally, you will need a drain line to attach to the Over Pressure Relief Valve. The installation instructions that are linked to on the product page will aid in understanding how best to select these items for your specific installation.

Q:Can I use this instead on an InSinkErator instant hot water dispenser under my sink, and connect it to that type of small faucet, not my main kitchen faucet?
      by|Jan 31, 2024
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Paulette, The model ES2.5 is not designed to maintain temperatures as high as an InSinkErator for potable hot water. The temperatures are meant to not be too severe for hand washing / bathing. Additionally, because the product uses a reservoir to hold water, it is not intended for drinking water (this is a non-conforming use for which we strongly advise not being employed due to potential heath hazards).

            It only works 2 years…
This will be my 3 replacement, due to the water heater leaking and then basically exploding on the inside of the unit. Damaging it beyond repair. Our floor was flooded, because it happened with we weren’t there. 2 -3 years of usage….but has 6 years of warranty on it that won’t help you when it malfunctions. Sad.

4 out 4 leaked and ruin our cabinets
We had installed four of this heaters in our kitchen and bathrooms over the past few years. This year all of them starting to fail, caused extensive damage to our bathroom and kitchen cabinets, and mold problem. We are very upset that such bad quality product are sold to consumers. We opened the unit up and the interior all rusted. This is total scam.

                It works for a while
It took 3 years and 4 months for mine to die. It worked fine with daily use for those 3 years in my kitchen sink which is on the opposite side of the house from my main water heater. I used this for instant hot water. Installation was easy though I did need to buy an adapter fitting to make the faucet hose fit. What is not immediately obvious is apparently this thing is made with cheap metal that corrodes, so you have to open it up annually to replace an anode rod, or it WILL rust out

For the Kitchen Sink and Dishwasher
Took three gallons of wasting water for the hot water to reach the Kitchen Sink. This worked out perfectly, hot water in like 2 seconds. After we deplete the 2.5 gals of water in the tank my House hot water already to Kitchen to take over.

Easy to install and works great. I actually installed...
Easy to install and works great. I actually installed it in the crawl space directly under the kitchen sink. To facilitate servicing the unit and as a proactive way to bypass the unit in the event it fails, I installed valves on the in and out connections and a third valve to pass the master water heater water to the sink. Also have a slip connection on the relief valve pipe for removal.

                    Great until it leaked
This unit is easy to install without the need of a plumber and provides sufficient hot water where it’s needed. The issue that I have is it only last 2 1/2 years before it started to leak, causing wood damage under my kitchen sink. It turns out that Bosch expects the owners to disconnect, drain, remove, inspect, and replace the heating element anode annually. If this is not document, then the 6 year tank warranty is voided. When I removed my heating element, the anode was corroded and had all but disinegrated. Totally not worth the money and damage it caused and Bosch ought to be ashamed for producing a faulty product and an even worse warranty

Tank Water leak after 27 months with 6 years warranty on tank
Water leak all over the floor after a little more than two years. No warranty enforced and Home Depot refused to exchange. Bosch support is terrible..It is not a reliable product and misleading label.
