The Bosch Colt Variable Speed Router with Edge Guide is a versatile tool that's ideal for clean cuts while performing custom carpentry, trimming laminate flooring or deck planks, mortising hinges, dovetailing and a host of other at-home and professional jobs. With a powerful motor, variable speed control and depth adjustment for preciseness, this router packs a lot in a small, compact package for extended comfort and maximum accuracy.

- 5.6 Amp motor with 15,000 - 35,000 RPM, depth adjustment system and finger support pockets

- Front spindle lock on the motor means easy, 1-wrench bit changes
- Fast and precise depth adjustment system that allows for both macro and micro adjustment

AnswersThis router is for light duty edge trimming. You can use it for the occasional dado and rabbet cuts but you will need to do multiple passes 1/8" at a time. Anything more would require more HP router.
what is the difference between Fixed and Plunge base?

AnswersA plunge base allows you to press the router bit vertically into the board and not from an edge. It usually is spring loaded to pull the bit back out. People making signs use it alot.

Purchased mainly to rout back of cabinet carcasses to make room for panel. Worked great! Nice size, very easy to use, and the guide is indispensable. I'll find lots more to do with this little tool. I wish the case was smaller though.

Had this palm router for a couple of months and loving it. The soft start is really nice, with minimal to no torque when turning on. Using this for freehand routed signs and it’s very comfortable. Depth gauge is easy to use and changing bits is easy.
