Q:Another question...how is the extension hose different from the original/replacement hose? Can the extension hose be used as a full replacement for the original hose or can it only be used as an extension?

Q:I see the hose is segmented such that there are two equally spaced hardened joints. The hole in my old hose is in the middle, so if I cut it off at the first joint, can I install the new extension hose from there? Doesn't need to look pretty.

Exact replacement for my old Bosch dishwasher drain hose!
A bit pricey due to the Bosch name but, the connection style and dimensions with o-rings are unique so you want the exact right part and this was it. There is no universal fit to this.
A roof rat had found its way behind our dishwasher and chewed up the old hose something fierce. I "discovered" the issue before running the dishwasher thank goodness when I was batch processing in the garbage disposal and I noticed water coming out from under the dishwasher.
Man, those little creatures are so destructive. A single one that chewed its way from the garage ceiling into our house has cost me hundreds in repairs so far. Every time I go to move or work on something new in the house, I discover another place he had been and the damage he managed to inflict before we realized he had joined us in our living quarters. It took us a week to catch and kill him too.

The hose was fine but the clamp was faulty and the installer had to use other items from his truck. It took them 1 1/2 hours to install my dishwasher.
