Hi there! The GLM165-10 doesn't have measurement storage or memory. It is very straight forward and will give you the measurement you got and it'll be gone once you start measuring again. For further assistance, contact us at 1-877-BOSCH99 (1-877-267-2499) from Mon-Fri 7A-7P CST.

I received this product and put it to use right away. We had leftover laminate flooring and used this to determine if I had enough to do an additional room. Square footage was easy to determine. This was a bargain on sale, and I suspect it is being replaced with the color screen version (at a much higher price) If there is one regret, it is that the fractions are, well, fractional in size. They seem to be bigger on the newer model, but at the price I paid, I'll live with it.

(What's this)
This is a good measuring device for a home owner / DIY, but lacks features for professional use. It will work great for my DIY home remodeling projects, and I hope to use it frequently and reduce my use of tape measures. But if you are a professional who needs to use a measuring device constantly or every day, consider the features I list below. Tape measures are quick and easy for many measurements around the house, but once you get past 8-10 feet, tapes can get tedious, awkward, bulky, and imprecise. This laser measure is compact, lightweight, and relatively simple to use. It includes a carrying pouch, a strap, and batteries. While it does work well in general, and often provides measurements that are much more precise than what I would normally measure with a tape measure, it does take some practice to use and has some design quirks that might be annoying depending on how you are using it, and how much you need to use it. Despite the word "Professional" being printed under the display of this laser measure, I think it is a consumer-grade tool, and not the best option for a professional who needs to use it every day. 1. The battery door on the back of the device is extremely lightweight and fragile. If you drop this laser measure, expect the battery door to pop off or break off. The first thing you should do after installing the batteries is to cover the back of the device with a piece of gaffers tape to hold the battery cover in place. This is not a rugged device, in my opinion. 2. Holding this laser measure against a wall or surface, aiming the laser, and then pressing the button near the bottom of the device can be awkward and tedious if you are only using one hand. The button placement is not ergonomic and doesn't seem to consider how the laser measure will be used. If you use two hands, it's easier to use, but it could have been designed better for one handed use. It could really use buttons on the sides and/or near the top / laser end of the device--a feature I found on a competing brand. 3. The display design makes it difficult to view the numbers from some angles. The numbers fade out completely if you look at the display from "above" (see video), and the numbers are relatively small, with the inch fractions being extremely small on the display. So you end up moving your head around to try and get a good look at the display and see if it captured your measurement. 4. When trying to hold the device against a wall, I often press the button, but the measurement is not captured. It feels like I'm pressing the button, but I'm apparently pressing it off center or not firmly enough, and although the display light may come on, it doesn't capture a measurement. So after each measurement, you have to check the display to see if it captured the measurement, as there is no audible or other indicator that a measurement was recorded. This will get tedious if you are taking lots of measurements or will be using this daily. 5. Outdoors in bright sunlight, I was only able to get a measurement about 16 feet away from a block wall. And measuring in the bright sunlight was very inconsistent even under 16 feet. Past that distance, the device could not measure anything. So if you are going to be measuring outside regularly, you will definitely need to use the included reflective targets. Surprisingly, it was able to measure several feet from a stucco wall in bright sunlight--I thought the textured wall with flat sheen might not work, but I was able to get readings at 6 feet away. 6. Indoors, the laser measure worked well for me up to 40 feet, which was the longest unobstructed distance I was able to measure inside my house. I think this is a great laser measuring device for a home owner and DIY person who has the time and the patience to deal with the quirks and doesn't have to use it daily. But, if you are a professional who needs to measure things for a living (construction, flooring, windows, etc.), will be using the device daily, and needs a tool that is fast and efficient, I would recommend shopping for a true 'professional' model that has the following features: 1. Larger display and larger digits 2. More ergonomic buttons, specifically buttons on the sides, etc. 3. Audible beep when measurement is captured 4. Better battery cover

(What's this)
Great long distance laser measure, it is accurate to within 1/16" (I tested it with my engineer ruler). This laser measure is built well and can be used in wet/dusty conditions. It is of the quality Bosch tools are known for. Operation is simple as are the instructions. With it you can take two successive measurements and the device will add both and hold the most recent The default measurement is feet and inches but you can switch to meters or just inches. It can measure over 165' but the accuracy drops. It comes with a landyard and carrying pouch for your belt. Laser measures are great for jobs when measuring tape won't do, such as measuring square footage, for molding, etc. The laser is only not good when on shiny surfaces or rough ones like insulation. The first job I used this for was measuring where I will put two new basement windows. Both will be on either side of the front porch so first I measured outside then translated those inside to see how they would look on the wall.
