I need 9" for my connection to my faucet 1/2" to 3/8". Does BrassCraft come in 9"? Can I use a toilet hose of 9"? I worry that a longer hose will put too much pressure on the water line from the wall.
Asked by: Mc
Yes and it should not hurt the pressure on inner walls

3/8 in. Compression x 1/2 in. FIP x 30 in. Braided Polymer Faucet Connector is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 872.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from 8 out of 26 supply lines leaked over time I purchased 26 of these supply lines in various lengths at Home Depot when we built our new house, thinking they were a premium product. I had 3 of them leak within 24 hours of installing, and took them back for replacements. I had another one leak after 3 months in an upstairs bathroom which we discovered when the laundry room ceiling started dripping. I replaced that one. We agonized over whether to change out the whole house, but after checking 26 of them regularly for a couple months and having no further leaks, decided it was just a few bad apples. Now, a year after the initial installation, we discovered water damage on our dining room ceiling from another upstairs sink, and when checking the whole house again, I found 4 more with slow drips. All 8 leakers failed at the crimp joint between the braided steel hose and upper fitting. At this point, I'm changing out the whole house to the simple grey plastic supply lines. So much for a premium product!

After I found my hose leaking under my kitchen sink , late in the evening, I tore everything out from under my sink and found the problem. Leaking 'cold water hose! I disconnected it AND disconnected the warm water hose as well, and headed into Home Depot at 8:45 at night! Bought 2 hoses. (Found out their 'competetor' did not have any 30"hose!!!) Went home, hooked up both hoses! Back in business!! (Finished drying the wet area over night and watched for any more leaks. All is good!! Thank you Home Depot for going the extra mile and having the long ones in stock!!

I bought two of these 20inch long hoses and they seemed to be of good quality, however, it ended up being short by less than an inch in length to make my connection. I returned them looking for a 24' length but Home Depot only sells a 30' length for the next size up, this would have left me with an extra 10 or 11 inches of hose that I did not need or want and I had to drive farther away to another hardware store who had the 24' length that I needed. Please Home Depot sell hoses with less than a 10-inch length difference from one hose to another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Every faucet made needs to come with or be engineered... Every faucet made needs to come with or be engineered to accept a 3/8 to 1/2” hose such as this. Any time these engineers design a faicet with fancy fittings other than these hoses they either leak or restrict the water volume...c’mon engineers dont be like Mercedes Benz and over engineer things to create more points of failure.

Only reason I got this was because the inline shutoff valve had a 3/8" compression output (wanted 1/2" FIP out) to make a shower turn off valve (so we could scrub up in shower without wasting water or changing temp)(38" 1/4 round shower enclosure and you can't get away from the spray). It worked for me.

Now I have to see how long does this work. This things don't go bad for a long long time. I had to replace the previous one, only because the new faucet had a shorter pipe and hence I needed a longer connector.

There is a caveat in that anything less would result in a return. Unfortunately, give the options I don’t have many other resources available to purchase alternatives. Helpful?
