Not unless you are skilled at welding & fabrication, and it won’t be worth your trouble to affix it to a 1/4” cable. The connections are 1/2”. I made an adapter for a closet auger which is 1/2” diameter, and the heads work well for that short distance.

You can buy a replacement screw in the hardware dept. Be aware that some drain cleaners need a course thread and some need a fine thread for the attachments.

The set comes with a connecting screw, with coarse threads. My drain cleaner needed a fine thread. I bought a replacement fine threaded screw in the hardware dept.

how to recover lost side cutter ?

You can either hook it and pull the side cutter out, or try and push it through until you reach a larger pipe where the blade won't be a clogging issue. Good luck. This is when I call a professional rooter service, who has the proper recovery tools and a camera.

Broke 1st use
I used the 3" unit with the 2 prongs and both prongs broke off at the base the first time I used it. Didn't even feel like I hit anything. I switched to the smaller unit and the unit didn't have any issues, but that section of line was clear; no roots. I have no idea why the large unit broke. Now I have 2 large metal prongs stuck in my line. Not happy.

Do not use the Grease or Side Cutter. While I was snaking the 3" ABS pipe, about 25ft in, the side cutter came off and stuck inside the pipe. It looks like the screw came off due to the vibration from the snake. I ended up cutting the pipe at the other in trying to push the Side Cutter out with the Boring Head, but failed. For this reason, it is not safe to use the Grease or Side Cutter. You will be regretted like me if you use these tools and it came off halfway into snaking your pipe. The Straight Boring Head is pretty good. I ended using this to unclog the pipe. However, I am very worry that in time it will be clogged again because the Side Cutter is still in the pipe somewhere. Does anyone have any suggestions or idea what I can do to remove the Side Cutter that is stuck in my pipe about 25ft?

BE CAREFUL!! Not ready for immediate use
I tried the grease cutting bit. It is the small 2 prong bit. I attached to Home Depot's rental, small power auger. I was clearing a 2 inch drain line and when I pulled out the line I noticed the cutter blades had fallen off. After some choice words were shouted and I danced around in circles to release tension - I had to cut the drain line in the basement in two places to get access to fish out the 2 cutter pieces, the washer, and the bolt with a magnet attached to some 'fish' tape. This delicate operation took longer than cleaning the line. Heads up - the 2 prong cutter blades in this kit are bolted to a mandrel - so remember to TIGHTEN ALL the bolts on these cutters before using. See photo and happy drain cleaning.
