The fully enclosed all steel weight tray offers flexibility for adding various types of weights; 150 lbs. of additional weight may be added for aerating considerably compacted soil or hard clay. And the easy to engage transport wheels make crossing driveways and sidewalks a breeze. Don't settle for a less than perfect lawn. Let Brinly help you get the lawn of your dreams.
  • Aerate & Relieve Compacted Soil: 24 heat-treated, 16-gauge Steel plugging spoons penetrate compacted soil and remove up to 3-inch plugs of soil, allowing water, seed, and fertilizer to reach the roots. Brinly plug design is narrower with sharpened ends to allow easier penetration and require less weight.
  • Long-lasting construction: durable, all steel design with fully-enclosed weight tray holds up to 150 pounds of any type of extra weight for maximum soil penetration and depth. Tines are heat-treated for strength. No flat wheels for durability.

Don't know but if you can follow directions, you can do it yourself. I did. The packaging was damaged and there were a couple of parts missing. I was able to replace them at Home Depot and was compensated.

Will this attach to Ryobi electric riding mower?

The PA-403BH attaches with a hitch pin and from looking at photos of the Ryobi Electric Riding Mower it can accept the pin. However, I think this is more of a question for Ryobi to see if the mower is capable of towing something like this.

would this work well to over seed? run this around then seed and rake.

How long is the tow bar? My John Deere x354 has a bagging system in the back - do not want to remove the bagger frame to accomodate the aerator

I also have a JD with a bagger. The hitch on the JD didn’t extend far enough so I removed the bagger frame. It took about 10 minutes and I was aerating.

It worked well in my moss covered area. As long as the soil is somewhat firm, it should work fine.

Thank you for your question. The aerator can also be hung out of the way on a sturdy hook, or stood on end against the wall with the drawbar tied up for stability.

Good equipment
Waited until three days after rains. Weighted down with sons dumbbell set. 1.5 to 2 inch penetration. Only question is how long will the plastic bushings last? Would definitely purchase again and recommend to others.

Exceeded Expectations
This took some time to put together. My husband spent about 4 hours on it using socket wrenches and no drill. After the set up was complete he used it right away on our lawn. We were amazed at its performance.

Just What We Needed

My Experience in Compacted Rocky Clay
I live in the Minnesota Arrowhead, far away from anywhere with a rental core aerator. My lawn has a high clay content and a lot of rock between 1/4" and 1/2" diameter. The previous owners of our home used the lawn at a high frequency and the soil was very, very compacted. After researching many different brands and models I ultimately decided on Brinly as the reviews are generally very positive, spare parts are readily available, and I have bought their products in the past with great results. Out of the box, the aerator did take quite a bit of time to assemble, nothing overly difficult, but took maybe 1-2 hours. In use I did not encounter any issues with the wheel lifting travel bar getting shaken off the pin that holds it in place like some reviews mention. I also found the steel to be of adequate size and strength to lift the aerator fully loaded (and I may have even been slightly overloaded, not that I recommend that). I recommend cutting some cardboard from the box and placing it in the weight tray as a paint protector. Some things I feel that are important to point out: Prior to using this, the moisture content of your lawn is extremely important, especially with clay. The directions even call out that if the soil is too dry it will crumble instead of pulling a nice plug, and if its too wet, the ground will tear instead of pulling a nice plug. Soil moisture content is key. Also, the plugging spoons on this aerator are smaller than you may expect compared to a commercial aerator. The cores are closer to 1/4" where a commercial aerator might be closer to 1/2". I'm sure this is because this unit can not be weighted down enough to pull a bigger core. That's not a huge deal. After thoroughly saturating my lawn (even over saturating in some spots) the aerator did penetrate the compacted rocky clay pretty nicely. To be extra clear, this is the hardest lawn I've ever been on and it's rocky. I would say that I averaged plugs between 1-1/2" to 2-1/2". In a lawn with less clay and rocks I know that they could have averaged higher. I was very pleased with the strength of the plugging spoons. There was no visible damage or bending due to rocks, which was one of my biggest concerns before purchasing. There were some rocks that got stuck in the spoons, but that's unavoidable. It would be sensible to stop every few rounds and clear them. I did perform this aeration this fall, and will likely have to wait until next spring to see the real benefits. I can say after using liquid aeration products on a regularly scheduled basis this year, I do recommend mechanical aeration as well if you are facing a more severe case of compaction. I'm happy I bought this and used it to alleviate those severe areas. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, it's a well built, quality product, it does what it's supposed to do, and the price is extremely competitive compared to a renting a core aerator (which again, was not an option for me.) I will remind people that lawn moisture content is key when using this tool, and also I would recommend going over the area a few more times due to the smaller spoon size. In my research and experience I am confident that you can not go over your lawn too many times with this tool, I ran it over a 5,000 SF area for 1-1/2 hours or so and had no severe damage to the existing turf. I recommend purchasing this unit over renting a core aerator if you have the space to store it and a tractor to pull it, even in my extremely compacted rocky clay.

BRINLY PLUG AERATOR BEST OF THE BEST
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome unit. Last year we had a professional aerate the yards, left large holes and huge plugs all over the lawn looked like a mess for weeks till they broke down. This year I decided to try doing it myself and purchased the Binly Aerator Plug. HELL yes I was impressed works like a charm on the back of he lawn tractor, nice even holes throughout the lawns smaller plugs that disappeared (broke down) within a day or two and lawn looks 100 % better than ever before. Neighbors are amazed of the difference in lawn thickness and how green it became and how all the weeds seemed to be chocked out. Got this unit on sale which made it a win - win for us. Great product wouldn't be without it now, don't pass it up if your thinking of it. don't think act now. Thanks for an awesome product that WORKS!

Remember DO NOT BASH PRODUCT BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO ASSEMBLE...I have more pics but could only do one.

Excellent!
I used this on my backyard, which, for one is very compacted. Also, it’s not very level. This exceeded my expectations. My local Home Depot assembled it for me and a wheel did fall off during use but did not impact the performance. You can see in the pictures the size of the plugs which varied due to my unlevel backyard. Looking forward to using it in the front yard which is more level.

Works perfectly!
All the bolts and nuts came in the box instructions were easy to follow and it worked as advertised pulling out plugs from the soil held 150 pounds and is extremely stable made out of solid steel very satisfied with the purchase however it does say that the spikes are tempered but the very first time that I used it the black paint came off the tip of every single spike still operates as advertised but I thought the paint would last longer I also went over rocks and roots and it did not bend or snap any of the spikes
