My home is about 30 years old I had to replace 2 bathroom exhaust fans although the new fans looked identical I had to reverse direction on both motors and the shafts were about 1/4 inch longer and I cut them off with a Dremel tool not quite the exact they claimed.l
Yes, I bought mine. I replaced the motor which was super easy to swap out. Took less than 30 minutes.
I successfully replaced my ventilation (No light fixture) which was from 1988. It fitted well and still working after one year. I suggest: find the item number on your current unit and look for it on the internet and find the equivalent item for it, since the manufacturer might not exist anymore. Good luck.
No, the item is not compatible with that model.
No it does not. Fast and easy
Looking at the Broan support site at https://parts.broan-nutone.com/ModelDetail.aspx?modelnumber=655-A, it looks like you are trying to replace the Fan Blower Wheel and Fan Motor (parts 99110446 and 99080166 respectively). Note that 655-A, B, and C all seem to have the same fan and motor parts. I do not have direct experience with the 655, but it looks like the Home Depot part might work. I suggest you order the Home Depot Motor and Impeller online for store pickup, then bring the entire Fan Assembly (Blower Wheel, Motor, and Mounting Plate) to the store and visually inspect them for compatibility because you will need to fit the Home Depot motor/impeller onto the mounting plate from your fan. Good luck!
It is supposed to draw (pull) - not push - the air. If you put the blade on and plug it in, you should be able to determine the direction of airflow. Don't touch the spinning impeller!
4.5 inches the fan only move air sideway
Don't know. This is an exact replacement for a BROAN unit.
I can't say for sure. I only know that it was an exact fit for the one I replaced. If yours looks like it it should fit. There is a lot of room up there in the ceiling to make it work. Sorry couldn't be more help.
