Replaced stove with a new one from GE and so upgraded from an old Broan to his new one. Previous one was 20+ years old so trusted the name and heard the GE's hood's fan wasn't centered which is plain odd. While not cheap, the design and built is quite simple and lighter than expected. Aluminum hood with center fan (Model: Y4L403B246G rated at 1500 RPM, 24W). Circular blade is plastic with ring so less chances an individual blade would break so we hope that means quieter and it is a bit. These are really designed for a circle duct for best airflow but works well with our top rectangle to circle duct converted. Our horizontal duct wasn't exactly the same distant from the back so we had recut the horizontal a bit more into the hood to match the duct. The buttons are cool, they require just a light press, and you can set which speed / brightness to default to. You can easily shut off either with a long press but to cycle backwards you need to cycle forward but this makes for a cleaner design vs more buttons or slider buttons. I love most the look from underneath, esp coming from a 9" height hood to this 5" you can see more from underneath so this design looks more cleaner and professional looking. Overall happy, would recommend, high 300cfm if using the circular and the best part, the LED lights are amazingly nice. They're not the cold/blue LED types, but a very nice and pleasing warm color (measures 6700K from dslr camera). That was our fav part when turning on, it was oh, that's a nice light. Beautiful quality under the cabinet fan. LED lights are very bright over the range & has two settings. The first setting is good enough. No buttons to clean all touch tone. Fan has three settings & is only a little loud on the highest setting. Comes with two sets of vents for either exterior exhaust or recirculating air. The vents are attractive & can be put in the dishwasher. Week worth the research & money.

First i thought the hood was low profile from looking at the website pics, it’s not, the picture is cutoff. It looks like the 2nd pic with the range under it. No matter, I bought this because i liked the specs, 300cfm, the led lights, fan / light button location, 2 filters, etc. I was a little higher price than what I was looking for and sales person told me it came with 1st set of charcoal filters – Does not. First order arrived at the local HD damaged - extremely poor packaging for such a nice product. Only 2 Styrofoam molds on both ends of the unit. Nothing to protect the top or front, mine was dinged in the middle front. Ordered another one, arrived faster than expected, same poor packing, and appeared to have a small mfg ding in the front corner, could have been from the mfg hood assy. Wonder if this was acceptable to their QA? Now to install it. After studying, learning the terminology, and constantly referring back to the instruction sheet for about 30–40mins i was able to understand the instructions, the pictures, and step layout. Not too bad once you figure it out. You will need to use your old AC cord from the previous vent hood or buy a new one. My previous vent AC cable exited the hood on the left, and this hood exits on the right so I had to drill out a new hole). I was installing non-ducted, but there were lots of instructions for external venting options (little confusing). As for the EZ1 brackets, very nice and comes with 2 options - framed or non-framed cabinets. Mine were framed so i dry fit the brackets to the hood and fit perfect. I then screwed the brackets to the cabinets and tried to mount the hood. Well i found the bracket frame holes to the hood assy did not line up (a common comment in many reviews). This is because my under cabinet hood space is 30" across and the hood is a little less than that. I say about 1/4 inch on each side. If the bracket plate extended just a little wider then this would not be problem. So to fix this problem, i had to back out, (the bracket to cabinet frame) screws on both sides a little, and pull the bracket out to the middle of the hood so i could line up the frame bracket holes to the hood. Also each bracket has a metal tab that is used to mount (temp hold) the hood to the bracket (1 person install). Great idea, and useful if it worked (It worked when I fit the parts to the hood before installing it, but it didn't work for me once i mounted the brackets to the cabinets, and tried to mount the hood to the brackets). These bracket tabs are used so 1 person can mount the hood to the brackets, until you can screw the hood to the bracket holes that don't line up (lol). The hood depth adds 3 inches more than before and wife finds it hard to reach the cabinets above hood. Also the fan exhaust above the hood blows out really hard and it would have been nice if the exhaust air was angled more away from the cabinets. Plenty 5 star reviews and energy star ratings. 300cfm fan doesn’t sound too loud to me. There is no owners manual, nor any documentation to register the product for warranty, only the instruction sheet! So other than those few quirks, once installed - this is a really nice looking vent hood. It’s been installed about 1 week and so far pleased with this purchase.

A good unit as expected. Good choice for duct set-up (needed on top rectangular). Not as loud as my old Broan yet greater CFM. Nice touch buttons. While I installed myself with 1 person installing instructions, would recommend help to avoid being a little frustrated with myself. Also glad made in Mexico as opposed to overseas.

Installation was straight forward, quiet when running, performs well, met expectations. good value at Home Depot, other retailers had higher price.

Gabage. 2 years in light blown and cant be replaced.

Quiet, and does an excellent job of removing steam, grease and odors. Installing in manufactured home required some innovation, and the purchase of different hardware. Also purchased a metal 'splatter screen' to cover large holes in wall from removed microwave. Oh, the lighting is beyond wonderful... imaging actually seeing what you are cooking!

Returned it. Too complicated

Beautiful looking but sometimes light flickers. Disappointing!
