Just bought two during bathroom remodel. Grille springs are ridiculously cheap and hard to mount to fan box. Then arent strong enough to pull grille tight to ceiling. Faz n is quiet though.

This is a very quiet fan. It has a delayed start which was disconcerting the first time I turned it on because I thought it was defective. But once you realize it takes three seconds for the fan to begin running, then all is good. I installed this as a retrofit. There are instructions for both new construction and retrofit. One criticism is that this mounts on a frame, which I like, between two ceiling joists. It is designed for the fan to slide along that frame so it can be located anywhere between the joists, which I also like. I just wish there was a better way to fix the location of the fan than to just crimp the frame with some pliers. This step is not mentioned in the instructions for the retrofit, but is for the new construction. One other criticism concerns the lack of a six inch to four inch reducer adapter so that you can use four inch flexible duct. It appears that some versions of this fan do come with the adapter, but not this one. It probably doesn't work to the full 110 CFM capacity with a four inch duct and it might be a tad noisier than the design specification, but that is what I already had and the run was only about four feet, so that's what I used. If you do need the adapter, be sure to get the specific adapter specified in the manual (part no. 99111513). I ordered it directly from the manufacturer's website as I could not find it at Home Depot. I looked at using various six inch to four inch reducers available and every one except the specified one would interfere with the built-in damper operation. The specified reducer has a longer six inch section than the others so that it doesn't interfere with the damper. I added a little gap filler foam around the perimeter of the fan box just so air from the attic would not be sucked into the fan. I'm very pleased with the completed installation. It's much quieter than the old fan and it really pulls the moisture out of the bathroom.

This went in a new apartment build. Worked for about 9 months and suddendly died. Power to unit, but with no schematics here on this site it is problematic to trouble shoot. Stupid city-mandated code required such a complex unit. What is wrong with a switch controled ON/OFF fan like has been used for decades? Now I have a steamy bath with a very complex DEAD fan. Additionally, 100cfm barely clears a very small bath. On the upside, it is very quite. So quiet now that i dont even hear it. Of course it's now broken, so .... Please post schematics for this unit or allow me to return for a replacement.

Overall, I like the unit. My only complaint is that there is a 5 second delay before fan starts.

Much quieter than expected. Used in a skylight tunnel for additional venting.
