Is it possible to make this grinding wheel be 3/16 inch?

The Oregon chain saw technician said the proper grinding wheel size for their .325 chain is 3/16 inch. Is is possible to make this grinding wheel 3/16 inch? I was told there was some way to do it but not sure how.

if you could find a replacement wheel the size you need that will fit the grinder

Is this the correct size grinding wheel for a .325 pitch chain?

I called Buffalo and they told me this grinding wheel was for a 3/8 pitch chain. I read all the reviews and didn't see anything regarding the size of chain people were sharpening. Buffalo only makes the one size grinding wheel so I thought someone could tell me if this wheel would be OK to use on a .325 pitch chain.

Bought it for my electric pole saw and electric chainsaw that I use around the yard. Cost effective considering the cost of a new chain. However, the instructions are terrible. It was not "ready to go out of the box" and needed to be partially assembled and set up. It took some figuring out. After that, adjustment and operation was straight forward.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from We will see how it works out. I had a few chains that had some good dings in them. I couldn't get them all out with my typical rat tail file and keep all the teeth even. So I got this so it could occasionally touch up the teeth when they become all chipped up. I first used this on an oregon chain. Worked rather simple. Still takes 4x longer than a hand file but I know all the teeth will be uniform. I don't mind the extra time really. PROBLEM: I attempted sharpening a STIHL chain. The grinder did not throw any sparks. This surprised me but I went all the way around on the teeth. I pulled the chain off to inspect and the teeth were not even sharp. They looked polished but very little material was removed. So i tried again. Same results. I was worried that I would need to rotate the disk already(only the 2nd chain 'sharpened'). I put an homedepot 'special' Power Care chain on to see if it was the disk or the chain. The Power Care chain sharpened just fine. I have also had difficulty sharpening the STIHL chain in the past with a hand file. I am disappointed that it can't sharpen the much harder material. But I will keep trying to figure it out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good tool for the money This was the first one I've ever bought. Had it set up and sharpening in just a few minutes. Had four or five chains sharpened in less than thirty minutes. Tried out a couple and they cut well. Very satisfied except the fact it is MADE IN CHINA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saves time and money !! Great product and seems to hold up to normal wear and tear. Sharping stone is adjustable to accommodate the cut of the teeth on your chain. The price is right for the avg. homeowner.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product A friend sharpened some chains for me on an older model of this same product. It did an oustanding job in a short amount of time. He helped me set up my unit which was great, since the instructions are hard to follow. Before my purchase, I read the reviews, and must agree it is a great product with poor instructions.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from This product worked great. Just used it the first time and it worked absolutely great. That being said, the instructions left something to be desired. Got everything set and in a few minutes a nice sharp chain. Lots better for me than a file, never quit got the hang of them there things no matter which kind I tried. now the teeth are all the same angle AND the same depth just like store bought. worth every penny.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far so good. Sharpened 2 chains and tried 1 out. It cut great. I purchaesd 3 chains over 6 month period...about $75. This sharperner will pay for itself about 2 chains. Tried it once already and the chain was sharp and cut good. Payback is quick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What an easy way to get you chains sharp! Learning to use this tool properly for the first time took about 10 minutes. After that, sharpening your chains takes very little time. My chain was so dull that my saw would barely cut through a 3-inch branch without giving me a hard time. Once I had got the knack for this tool and sharpened it up, I was cutting through 10-12 inch logs again like they weren't even there. Two thumbs up!
