Product Details

Gable vents provide added architectural detail with their wood grain finish and sharp distinctive characteristics. They offer key features that have become the benchmark in the industry. Installation is easy with our wide nailing flange, leveling lines, and adjustable stop gauge. Our patented snap-on trim ring hides rough cuts and reduces installation time, while providing a finished appearance once the vent has been installed. Our vents utilize a double baffle design that blocks a direct view into the home and provides added protection against wind-driven rain and snow. The sealed-in fiberglass screen offers complete insect and animal protection. Each gable vent has more venting area than industry standards. Available in 24 colors or a separate paintable option (color code 030). Limited lifetime warranty. Polypropylene/polystyrene.

      A:  Gable measurement is taken from the outer dimension, which includes the outer snap on ring. Measurements should be taken from outside the attic. Using internet search engines and requesting DIY instruction on gable installation should offer up multiple viewings, several of which should give you the instruction you are looking for. Most of the work will need to be done externally. If you are installing a gable where there was not one before, you may want to at least look into the attic area to ensure there are no obstructions where you may be potentially cutting through roof construction supports.

      A:  Our gable vents are designed to be installed from the outside over the hole and under the siding. You would measure from the outside.

        Did just what we needed to keep the animals out of the attic. Looks great on the house.
        Light weight and sturdy. Looks great and very easy to install from the inside of the house. No ladder was needed to climb up. Vent also had a screen in the rear to keep bees and wasps out of the attic.

        Disappointed
        The external ring falls short and doesn't cover the screws around the vent as in the 18" model. A design error? Probably ok for a farm, but definitely not for a house. (See image)

          Product was exactly as advertised. I used as a retrofit on a stucco house, so I had to cut off the nailing flange, fit it in the opening in the stucco, and use silicone to attach it. Installed easily and quickly.

          Design Flaw? Nope.
          The previous reviewer wasn't aware that this vent is designed to be installed with siding and not surface mounted as shown in his picture. The gap is there to accommodate siding that is butted against the vents edge. I installed this and it provided for a beautifully finished vent on my gable end.

          These gable vents are a really good value.
          I was very pleased with the quality of these gable vents. They are heavy gauge PVC with a wood grain finish. I was also pleased that they have a screen to prevent bees, etc. from entering through the vents, yet let air circulate. Best of all, they are maintenance free. I will not have to replace them again.

          Good product, easy to install and cooled attic well
          I installed three of these gable vents in my attic to reduce the heat in the summer months. It is a tight fit to install when siding is already installed but not imposssible. The lock ring does not hold very well if installed after siding is up but I didn't think the ring would stay on anyway with the winds we get around here so I put four 3 inch screws through the ring to make sure it holds. The cooling was immediate and noticable. Everything has held up well so far through a Wyoming winter.
