Q:Will this product work with my mute step acacia flooring in order to redo my stair treads? I can't use your stair tread product b/c my stairs are 29 3/4" wide and I'd waste too much tread doing that.

A: Hi Garth, thank you for asking. Yes the nosing will work in lieu of the treads and the key is to glue the flooring boards and nosing down together on each step. Please keep in mind that the length of each nosing is just 6' so in this case you can likely get two steps of coverage for every one nosing that you order. Q:Which edge of the flooring plank goes next to this stair nosing, the tongue or the groove? Do I install the flooring up to the nosing, or start at the nosing?

A: Great questions and thank you for asking! Please make sure the groove side of the plank is facing the Stair Nose. A: HI! Thanks for checking! You'll always want to make sure that any flooring products used on the stairs are glued down with a construction adhesive. For vinyl floors, we recommend Titebond 670! Thank you again!

doesn't work with vf stair thread

I purchased vf stair thread (model 7914009017) for all stairs and it doesn't match with shape of stair nose.

So our Stair treads are designed to cover a full stair where as the stair nosing is designed primarily for the landing/top stair. The do have different dimensions but I've included the link to the CALI Accessories page which shows the shape and size of each.
