Yes, our CLR Calcium, Lime and Rust Remover is safe to use on PVC. As soon as it comes into direct contact with the rust (can be used undiluted on PVC), it dissolves the rust by layers within the first 2-5 minutes then stops dissolving what it can in that application. Leaving it on any longer will not give you any better results, but rinsing well with clear cold water after the product has been sitting on the rust and repeating the application, is recommended so our product can start dissolving the next levels of layers in the next 2-5 minute application. Repeat this process as many times as necessary.
can it be used for lime buildup on windows?

I poured a little bit of CLR on the problem areas of my dishwasher and after a little scrubbing the lime stains were gone.

No CLR cannot be used with Aluminum.
