A: I think if ypu could anchor into something behind the aluminum, it might be better, unless the aluminum is thick and there is some way that you can use through bolts with washers on the back under the nuts. Of course use stainless steel fasteners.

A: If you are hanging a sail canvas-type cover, when a storm comes it's best to take the canvas down. The canvas would rip apart before the anchors but it could happen during a hurricane.

A: The mounting plates attach with screws. If you can get to both sides of the aluminum structural support, replace the screws with nuts and bolts. Strong winds might strip out the aluminum and your sun shade heading to Cuba.

A: Good question, 1stTimeDIY! These can be attached to any flat surface. Just make sure your poles are properly set 1/3 into the ground to withstand the force from unexpected gusts.

A: Poles are not part of the kit. The wall bracket is for wood. But the other attachment hardware could be used on metal poles.

A: YES. Any post you have. Just needs to have a flat surface for the mounting plate for the 4 holes.

A: Yes, they will work on a metal pole as long as you can drill holes through the metal to make a mount. I used pvc pipes. See photo.

A: A metal pole is a good alternative to mounting the sail as long as it is strong enough not to bend or buckle. In that option I would purchase and install eye bolts to the poles and then attach the clips or turnbuckles to them. You would not need the anchors in this package in that scenario.

Installation Kit includes everything needed to hang your Rectangle or Square Sun Sail/ Shade Kit includes 2 turn buckles adjustable from 9.5 inches to 14 inches, 4 pad eyes measuring 4 inches x 2 1/4 inches, 2 heavy duty 4 inch snap hooks and 12 phillip head wood screws 2 1/4" with 12 anchors. This is a very strong hardware kit. Although there are not instructions included with the kit, but really not needed as it is self explanatory. The hooks that fit on the wall mount and on the sail itself are strong but in high whipping winds it can slip off. Regular wind doesn't seem to be a problem. I love the adjustment feature of the screws so that helps keep it tight. The carabiner is a great way to secure the sail in super stormy winds.

This is an excellent stainless steel hardware installation kit for a sun shade canopy. I got this with a 14 foot by 14 foot square sun shade sail for my deck. The hardware kit comes with four large stainless steel pad eyes, two turnbuckles, two carabiners and stainless steel screws and plastic anchors. The pad eyes were easy to install and the carabiners are heavy duty. This kit will hold the sun shade even on windy days in the summer and the carabiners make it easy to take the canopy down.

I have mounted a few of these over the years and have learned it is much simpler to get the kit with all the included hardware to speed the process along. The mounting rings are solid, and you can get a nice tight pull on the shade cloth to keep it from sagging in the middle. Using the turnbuckles allows you to hang everything in then get a nice tight pull even when working alone. It also comes down easily if you want to put everything away for the winter or just pull it down for cleaning. The other kits I have installed from this company are doing well and the stainless hardware still looks good after several years out in the weather.

This kit is heavy duty. The high quality 304 stainless steel contents of the kit ooze strength and reliability. Indeed, Colourtree offer a no questions asked lifetime warranty in the (presumably rare) event that something fails. The turnbuckles are easy to adjust in order to fix the correct wire tension. Designed to support a rectangular sun shade the two turnbuckles can be independently tensioned and slackened to provide even tensity distribution across the whole shade.

It is hard to judge the size from a picture but these are large and will easily support a sun shade if installed properly. It says everything is stainless but I'm not sure about the carabiners, they are not marked. I used this to hang a sun shade from Colourtree. I recommend opening up the turnbuckles as far as they will go to make it easier to attach the sun shade, then tighten. I would prefer to use a turnbuckle at each corner for a more secure install, unfortunately 2 kits would be required for that.

I have existing shade sails hanging and was looking to add another to cover a new paver sitting area I recently added to the back yard. This hardware set makes it easy, has everything you need to mount a shade sail if you have existing sites to hang one. I have my patio beam as one mounting point and need additional poles on the opposite side to finish the job. The hardware includes mounting points, carabiners, and turnbuckles. All are quality pieces. I’d recommend steel cable instead of rope to ensure the shade sail will hang for years to come.

Colourtree Super Ring Sun Shade Sail Canopy hardware installation kit for Square or Rectangle Colourtree Sail Canopies. All the hardware in this kit is made from 304 Stainless steel. This completes the all the pieces to install my light gray rectangular shade. My delivery packaging was damaged in transit. It was delivered USPS in a Priority Mail cardboard envelope. Not the best package to ship this heavy item. Recommend the shipper uses a box. Lucky nothing missing or damaged.

Seems to be a nice heavy duty stainless steel set of hardware for sail shade installation. It could be used for any brand of shade that has D rings already installed. Enough components for square and rectangular shaped shades. My sample did not have instructions enclosed. I had to look them up online. I also found a few videos demonstrating how to properly install a sail shade, but I do think instructions should have come with the set. Bare bones plastic bag packaging. We have a large square sail shade we'll be installing once the ground is no longer frozen, (so we can set posts.) This kit is all we'll need to finish the job.
