How many units do l need to heat a 1000sq ft. basement and do I need a separate thermostat for ea...

We usually use about 10 watts per square foot. You can use multiple heaters on a thermostat but we have to make sure we do not exceed the maximum wattage of the thermostat. I would look at an 8F2025 (2500 watt heater) you can put two of them on a T522 thermostat. Two heaters per thermostat and do a total of two stat with two heaters to reach that 10000 watts. I hope that helps. You can call with questions at 855-223-3887 thank you.

How hot does the inside of the heater get?

Asked by Daniel December 16, 2020

Answer

The high temp cut off switch will shut the unit off at 210 degrees. This is a tough question because it depends on the air around and inside at a given time. I hope this makes sense. Thank you.

What is the BTU output rating of this heater? I didn't see it in any of the specs. Thanks.

The formula for any heater is 1 Watt = 3.46 BTU. Typically a 1500 Watt heater is considered to be 5000 BTU's.

Hello, the heater can sit directly on the floor and will be attached directly to the wall. If needed, it's also OK to raise it up a little bit if you need to place it over your existing baseboard trim.

If I install this heater with the btf2 thermostat, what size breaker do I need?

It's simple math: 2,000W : 240V = 8.33A. So, 15A breaker is enough.

Good question. Our baseboard heaters come with a lifetime warranty, so if you're properly cleaning and maintaining it, you shouldn't need to replace the heater. If there is something going on with the heater's performance, please give us a call so we can help troubleshoot the issue: 855.223.3887

Hello, thank you for your question! We recommend 7-10 watts per square foot for a main source of heat depending on the heat loss of the room. For the larger room we would recommend the 8F2000 and for the smaller room we would recommend the 4F1000. A good thermostat recommendation for these units would be model TH114. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-96-in-2-000-Watt-240-208-Volt-Electric-Baseboard-Heater-in-White-8F2000W/100028527 https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-48-in-1-000-Watt-240-Volt-Electric-Baseboard-Heater-in-White-4F1000W/100045022?keyword=4f1000w&semanticToken=20030+++%3E++++st%3A%7B4f1000w%7D%3Ast++cn%3A%7B0%3A0%7D++4f1000w+%7Bproductkey%7D https://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Double-Pole-15-Amp-208-240-Volt-Digital-Electronic-Non-Programmable-Wall-Thermostat-in-White-TH114/202909807

Still waiting for the on/off thermostat to come in but using the knob off the old heater. This one looks good and works perfectly. I like it because its out of the way, and not too noticeable. I will be ordering another one for my dining room.

Product was shipped to local Home Depot store and arrived in less than 1 week. Condition of packaging was poor and caused some anxiety. However, after removal of packaging and inspection, the condition of the product was good. The product manual was good insofar as installation and wiring. Having completing the installation about 2 weeks ago, the product works as expected. The product is served by a wall mounted Honeywell dipole thermostat. The most outstanding features of the product are ease of installation and good appearance.

Yes it is best to burn the heater overnight in a garage or well ventilated area prior to use. This is to cure the paint and burn of oils used in assembly. If you have any other issues please let us know. Thank you so much for buying our American made heaters!
