Q:can this be used to open vacuum sealed food jars?

A:  Probably yes. As I was worried about chipping the glass, I bought a specific jar opener "Vacumex" by Westmark. It's a lever and will do thin & thick (jam and jelly) lids easily. Best price $9 on EB>y with free ship. Brix also manufactures a good one.

      A:  If you need a mini pry bar. this is the best. the tip has a tiny thicker curled edge to hook under the paint can lid. If you need a finer tip, you can use a file. The tip, nor body will bend lifting a stuck lid. It is good steel.

          A:  It is worth a try. These are excellent for removing bulged casings from a rifle chamber. Should be in every shooter's range bag.

            Surprisingly pretty as a suncatcher
            Quality control on these is a little suspect (some had an angle to them), but overall, these probably would do their job just fine as can openers. I wouldn't know. I bought 26 of them and made a suncatcher with some hot glue, wire, and tissue paper. Because what else do you do with 26 paint can keys?
