Cap-A-Tread was easy to install install and it looks nice. It matches very well with my Pergo. The only reason I am not giving it a five is that it did not cut well- especially the risers. I used a special Pergo blade and the edges are rough. The blade was great for the Pergo, but not the Cap-A-Tread products.

Beautiful product. However I received ALL THE SAME PATTERN. I understand there are a variety of patterns but when you buy a deck of cards you don't want all 52 to be Kings and Aces. I started installing and the further I got I just had to vary the cut edges and flip the risers around. You can see in the pictures that the treads are basically 2 patterns that are cut off differently to try and vary it a little bit.
Then I cut a riser too short. No big deal I will just order another one. Oh wait now I got another pattern. 2nd order another pattern. Basically my stairs are incomplete and Home Depot is zero help trying to remedy the situation. Order number 4 fingers crossed.

I was looking for something to cover a stair that had previously been carpeted. The Cap A Tread fit over the original step
and with some trimming using a regular jigsaw fit in very nicely. Used heavy duty construction adhesive as per instructions.
Step has been in daily use with no problems at all. Minor issue not exact match to PERGO Antique Cherry but pretty close and
you will need to stain or paint edge if exposed.

I have two main issues with it: for one, the pattern doesn't show as much variation as the Pergo laminate, so you need to be more creative in laying it so it doesn't become repetitive. I've had to cut some board from the left and others from the right to adjust for that.
Secondly, QC has varied a bit in the 2 batches I've bought, with the last one not having straight edges on one side. Also, you will need a fresh cut on one of the sides so you can start with clean, non-chipped laminate - every single one that arrived had minor chips on the edges from the factory cutting process.
Other than that, it looks great and seems to be solidly engineered - time will tell on that one.
