Questions & Answers

Q:Can the box be repositioned along the bar ? I have to move box 2 1/2? over to the left
by|Aug 22, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Yes it can be positioned anywhere along the length of the bar. I had to do it for all the installations I've done. For ceiling fan installations center of room rarely will be the center between joists so you need it to be adjustable.

    Answer This Question

A:  Absolutely not.  It may say it can but it’s a bad idea Use a metal box made for a paddle fan

        Answer This Question

A:  Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. You can get a prybar in-between the nails to remove the ceiling box. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

          Lite-duty ceiling light connection mount
Metal supports definitely for supporting lite-weight objects. Was good for the pendent lights I was installing but would have not been suitable for a heavy chandelier.

          It falls apart
I really like the idea of using plastic instead of metal. But this box is falling apart into pieces. And was just installed in a ceiling for 5 years. Fortunately, only a light lamp was installed on it.

            Almost came crashing down
3 of these were installed in my kitchen about 12 years ago to support pendant lights about 4lbs. today i looked up and on the them was hanging by the cabling. disassembled everything the box is extremely brittle and broke at the mounting screws. luckily nothing worse happened

              THIS JUNK WILL BREAK
A ceiling light in my kid’s bedroom fell off. Today. Luckily no one was hurt. I took the fixture off and see this sad excuse of fixture support dangling, with brittle blue shreds everywhere. It is so fragile that you can break it with finger pressing. It may work ok for the first few years, but it degrades fast. I have no idea why this thing is even still a legal merchandise

Good luck finding a replacement box to fit on this when the original breaks. Previous owner installed this B620KR with a small fixture attached in 2012. It broke at the mounting holes in the back of box today, 2022. Bought what looked like a replacement, sat right next to this, B720R. Turns out that is a stud mount box, and the original fixture mounting screws won't work. Now I'm stuck with a box I can't use, don't want to get in the hot attic, and don't know what to replace it with.

easy to install, good for lite weight fixtures
I used this product to install a light in my basement. The adjustable metal bar makes it easy to install between joists.

Broke after 9 years ~ Dangerous
Chandelier (~35 pounds) )fell on kitchen table after being up for 9 years. Luckily no one was in the room at the time Plastic seems to have become brittle with time. Very dangerous product

                      Ceiling Electrical Box
These worked great for a master and guest bath renovation. We relocated the master vanity and replaced all the original boxes in both bathrooms - for the lights above the vanities. These worked great to span the studs and hold great

                      Cracked apart after 8 years
My house was renovated 8 years ago and this box was used to hold a very lightweight two-bulb fixture in a bathroom. One day my wife and I heard a crashing sound. The plastic box failed in a spectacular manner and the light was hanging from the ceiling by its electrical wires. The SKU number was still visible on the box, so I was able to verify that it is this product. It appears with age that the plastic becomes brittle and then breaks apart. I have taped it together with black duct tape, but it was apart in three major pieces.
