High cost of ownership outweighs any benefits
Installed Dec '16. First compressor failed winter '20. Replacement took so long to arrive our electric bill was double for two months. Labor/refrigerant cost $2000. Heat pump fan motor failed in Feb '22, another double electric bill. The inverter control board failed in Apr '23. Replacement compressor now failing in Jul 2023, ARS estimates $2200 in labor/refrigerant. Part on order for 15 days, no estimated arrival. Once warranty expires, cost of maintaining this system will be absurd.

Bad experience of infinity system
ARS guys installed infinity series FIVE stage system a month ago and it's down for almost a week. Thermostat showing an error code 179 "communication to outdoor unit failed" and no one at Carrier to help and at the same time ARS has worst after sale support. I do not recommend ARS and carrier system for anyone.

Poor quailty
My carrier infinity will be 6 years old this September. They have already replaced a part on the furnace and said that we caught it at the right time before it caught fire. Then the unit started displaying code 99. Carrier had the tech change out one part that I had to pay to have overnighted.
Did not fix the issue. Tech came back out yesterday and now carrier is telling him the compressor needed to be changed out but it’s back ordered and they don’t know when it will be back in stock.

On 3rd Motor
We purchased our Carrier Infinity almost 6 years ago and it’s on its third motor. It’ll take 3-4 business days to locate the part so again, no AC in 88 degree weather. Definitely would not recommend.

Carrier Infinity System are Superb
I recently installed a Carrier Infinity 25VNA4 heat pump with hybrid heat in Pennsylvania. It was not cheap but well worth the cost. The system is very quiet, you can't tell the outside condenser is on even running at 100%. The temperature is very even throughout the home with the fan running constantly. The heat pump runs even down to 0 degrees F outside and automatically switches to gas when needed. My gas bill is less than half during the winter months and my electric bill has stayed about the same as on my old system. Highly recommend.

Worst decision I have ever made
Have always done well with purchasing from home depot. This is definitely not one of them. Have had the unit for 3 years and it has broke down 3 times. It has cost us over 4000 in repairs. For 3 year unit. Unbelievable. Can not recommend enough not go get this. It is a money pit.
