Awesome Looking Ceiling Fan - Quiet Operation
Bought the Casablanca Durant (brushed nickel) 44-inch ceiling fan and installed it to replace an old kitchen nook 5-light (brass) fixture. The fit and finish of the Durant ceiling fan material is excellent and the installation was (fairly) easy but a bit tedious having to put in the 3-rubber bushings in each of the 5 fan blades (15 total). The fan operation is smooth and quiet. This fan puts out plenty of air flow with the highest fan setting generating a hair-blowing experience (good for the hottest days). The only complaint we have is that there is a 1/4-in gap between the fan motor housing cover and the ceiling (see pics). I contacted Hunter / Casablanca customer service and they thought that there might have been a manufacturing defect in the motor housing cover so they sent out another fan to see if it fixed the issue - It did not. We decided to live with the gap and send the replacement fan back (the Hunter / Casablanca fan customer service was AWESOME! even though the problem wasn't really resolved). If you can live with the gap at the ceiling interface, then, we would highly recommend this fan for a smaller living space.

This fan is perfect for our smaller guest bedroom. It’s whisper quiet, has multiple speeds, and three lights. I needed to install a beefier electrical box to support the weight but installation of the fan was fairly easy.
