Yes, will work As the wire gauge number increases, the diameter gets smaller. 20 gauge wire will 'carry' a larger amperage than 22 gauge

It’s very small gauge wire....I put a 24 volt transformer on the doorbell...no way could you put 300v or 600v thru it
