A: Probably, but I wouldn't chance it. Glass is always the best thing to use in the microwave.

A: NO! Bamboo fiber and Melamine shouldn't be used in the microwave - these items will leak chemicals into your food at high temps - which is why on the back of the items, it says: "Not recommended for use in microwaves" AND "Dishwasher safe TOP SHELF" which is away from the super-heated water.

These are colorful but I found out the Bamboo fibers...

These are colorful but I found out the Bamboo fibers are mixed with Melamine so you can't get them hot or put acid type foods on them - so... no soup, tomato sauce, etc. They are only top-shelf dishwasher safe, too. The plates are also thick which means it's hard to stack them if you don't have a lot of room to spread out. They will be my summer-only "fun" dishes.
