Not for rocky ground
Having already destroyed my small cultivator, I knew it was not going to be easy work for this tiller. it lasted about 40 feet before the tines locked up. Thought I'd jammed a rock in the tines, hit reverse, and the tines stopped turning completely. Font wheels still worked fine. Took it in my shop and investigated. Found the drive gear for tines broken in three pieces - see picture. After spending 45 minutes on hold, being assured my call was VERY important, I gave up and ordered the parts from their online parts store. At least that works pretty efficiently.

A real Earth Mover!
Customer review from logo
Moving into a house with a 1 acre backyard convinced me it was time to take "food growing" seriously. I needed to create a vegetable garden and I needed a tiller to turn over sod and earth that had been compacted for 40 years. The only previous experience I had with a tiller was a neighbors 40 year old "bone-shaker!". After studying the products available within my price range, I decided on the Champion Rear Tine Tiller. I was amazed at how easy it was to manage my new tiller. This was NO "bone-shaker." It was easy to start, relatively quiet (for a 212cc gas engine) and with the powered wheels moved easily over the ground. I tilled cautiously to a depth of about 2-3" at first and it easily ripped through the sod and compacted earth. Tilling the same row over again I was amazed at the amount of soil it turned over. This is a heavyweight earth mover with a lightweight price tag. I highly recommend this Champion Rear Tine Tiller.

Money Well Spent...
Customer review from logo
Starting a small cut flower business and needed to start prepping for planting. Yellow ripped thru the section easier than expected. I've used quite a few tillers and haven't liked most of them. This one went together easily, started right up and just did her business right.

My 30 year old rototiller couldn't dig in a litter box anymore. I noticed my pressure washer motor would mount on the tiller body, so I purchased a new champion 196cc motor and it works better than it did new. I painted and threw on some decals, and now it fits in with all my other champion power equipment.

Great tiller and great value
Customer review from logo
I have some tough soil and there is no way i could till using a cultivator. This machine is able to till at the depth I need and does not struggle. I have tilled about 1/2 acre of land so far and the machine has held up and just fine. It seems well built and as long as you keep up with the maintenance schedule you should have years of service. But remember it is still a machine so please read the manual before you start !!!!!

I wouldnt waste my time with this tiller .

I have purchase a rear tine tiller Model 100380 --Please be warned this is the worst piece of equipment I have ever purchased. used twice and the rear drive belt is gone bad and I only used the rear drive Once. You have to have the strength of a gorilla to hold in forward drive. It takes at least 5 passes to break through sod. It throws the dirt up on rear of tiller where you check the oil for the drive, It hills the dirt on both sides of tiller which means you will have to rake to level your dirt? Here is the big rub I have called the phone number 877 338 0999 and have yet after several attempts to talk to anyone .First time on hold at least 25 minutes, and the last time I get a pre recorded message to call and number for your generator and phone goes dead. Warranty maybe two years but is useless if you cant get any support? My tiller has issues with bad metal in the tines also.

Okay for what I need
Customer review from logo
Have used it a few times. It does make a squeeking/sqealing sound when I engage the tilles/drive. Finding I do need to lift the tiller at times or push it in the garden. I may need to adjust the handle bars. I can't get the pin through the top hole so I have to leave it in the second and lift it as I take it to the garden. I notice in the picture online that there is a hole way at the top, but mine does not have this.

Awesome Tiller
Customer review from logo
We researched the top tillers and found the Champion to be just what we wanted. It's powerful and quiet. Love that! It started right up. We're seniors and need something easy to handle. My husband uses a walker and was able to use this tiller. Doesn't go to fast. Love the reverse. Didn't shake us a bit. Very pleased. The muffler was damaged in shipment and the service department is amazing. We got the part the next day. We are extremely pleased with this tiller
